more tradgety at the pointy house

thanks mark,
well i've been watching him closely and he is in fact still going to the washroom (both) and he is eating veggi's and the odd pellet
he is still accepting the siringe and even taking the odd sip from his bottle
but he is not getting better physically
his body looks thin and stiff
and he is limping worse then before
i believe that is why he is having trouble eating/drinking on his own
he is having trouble getting around and it looks like a struggle to lean forward
its definately his back right leg or hip
he leans on his right leg from time to time and shakes and hobbles onto the other leg
he is not in nconstant pain however
only when pressure is applied to his right back end and only when it ressembles the same pressure applied as if he was standing (lightly pushing up from his heal)
thats why i don't know if its his leg or hip
the thing that scares me is there was never an event in which he could have injured his leg/hip
i'll keep you guys posted but it might be arthritus
i just pray that he doesn't lose all motor skills from his back end

I can't stop crying!
Why is this all happening to you?
I feel so bad for you .
Hope everything goes better with your babies!
Elizabeth

pk I am so sorry to hear that. Im sure pickle is going to miss his little friend too. I know nothing I can say will make you feel better but dont worry badstuff always happens all at once. It will get better soon.

awww :-( i kinda know what you are going through, went through it with both my little hamster a few years ago, and my cat last year. old age finally got to them. :-(

i know you are making your guinea piggy comfortable and i'm sure he greatly appreciates it. he knows you love him and are trying to help him out. i just hope he doesn't suffer too much :( just know that you are doing the very best you can for him right now, which is a lot more than most people would do.

and people, stop making it sound like she is horrible for not getting her guinea medical attention. when she says she can't afford it, she obviously cannot. she is clearly doing the best she can to make him comfortable (how many people do you know who would hand feed their guinea with a syringe?).

i think you are doing a wonderful job, PK, and i'm sure if your guinea could talk, he would thank you too.

i fed a cat with a syringe for a week and a half silly little fluffball ate to much of his fur lol if hes shutting down the just spend time with the little dude and hell be happier

thank you everyone
your gunna make me cry :*)

i've been feeding him fresh fruits, veggi's and syringing him water (as much as he will drink) at least 3-4 times a day
he can still walk (or hop/limp rather) without pain
but he can hardly get up on his own now
thats when he whimpers in pain
every night i cradle him in my arms and think of how much he will be missed when he is gone :/

i was holding him like a baby tonight and he was squeeking to me softly and staring into my eyes as he scarfed down parsley and guzzled his vitamin water
his eyes looks cloudy and his body feals frail
i know his time is running out
he's such a beautiful little creature
i wouldn't take back our time together for anything
pickle is getting jealous
