More Cory Eggs

hi inchworm
yeah it makes me feel really good about the first batch now :D .
after checking all my fish again this morning the corys have spawned again :hyper: , but think i will leave nature to take its course as i'm running out of room for them all now. other than that its moving the corys back into the other tank & cleaning the tank out for that batch of eggs. just had a quick count on the 1s that hatched last night & i found at least another 27 fry in there

Hi trace1 :)

I'm glad you let us know about this batch.

Cory fry usually seem to be growing so slowly at first that one of the most satisfying things is comparing them to the next batch to come along. It's then that you realize what a good job you have been doing right along! :D

I agree. Sometimes I think mine are growing so slowly. I can't wait to compare them to the next batch I have.

You are doing a great job with your cories. How big are they again (the parents). Mine are probably 1.25-1.5" and have only spawned 2 times and they didn't lay many eggs.

Keep up the good work

hi barracuda
i think the big 1 is about 2.5" the rest are smaller, we decided today that as a form of birth control they are gona have to go back in the community tank lol. We re counted the new fry earlier & found a load more so now in the fry tank we have around 50 babies  :hyper: & its only about 12 gallon tank, so thinking they are gona have to be moved into the 28 gallon when they all big enough & i get time to sort them all out.

Hi trace1 :)

How big are your pandas? They are another one that will spawn readily in a home aquarium if the conditions are right. They are more particular than the C. aeneus or peppered corys, but if they are mature and well conditioned, once they start they lay a few eggs at a time, on a regular basis. Mine are spawning again and I will be starting a thread about them soon. :D

hi inchworm
my pandas are only about an inch, think i will try them with breeding when they get a bit bigger never thought of them. but that will have to wait now till after xmas as i got to much 2 do as it is lol. what with xmas only a week away plus my youngest sons b/day is on wednesday so a bit hectic here at the moment.
how big are the pandas when they are ready to spawn??

Hi trace1 :)

It sounds like your pandas are still young. I don't think you have to worry about that happening anytime soon. But still, it's something nice to think about for the future.
