Month Old Guppy Fry Eating Plec Pellets......

Currently there is 2 guppies, 2 gouramis, 1 Molly, 2 cory's and 1 bristle nosed pleco. The gourami has had a bad time, A while ago it burnt itself on the heater, that started to heal up and then it got stuck in an ornament that I have, this damaged some of its fins and one of its feeler things ( not sure what they are called). It seemed ok after a while and everything started to heal and then this has happened

That's a lot of trouble for him. I wonder if another fish, like the moly, is stressing him or if he just hasn't quite healed from his injuries yet.

The Molly is quite a bully, I want to rehome it but I can't find anywhere. It could possibly be the Molly. I think the fate of the gourami has been decided :(

Are both gouramis male dwarfs? If so they'll fight.
Plus, dwarf gouramis now tend to carry Iridovirus which stops them eating, bloats them and they die a lot earlier than they should.

+1 I missed that there were two. Either the other one or the Molly are likely stressing it. My opinion anyway.

Yes they are both male, they were fine until I put the Molly in and now the Molly is bullying everything! I think it's got to go

2 Male dwarf gourami's will not work out long term. The molly will not be bullying for no reason as mollies tend to be quite laid back. How big did you say your tank was? 15 gallons? I've had a group of male mollies in a 10 gallon and not had a problem but I always see DG's that fight in shop tanks let alone home aquarium. Male DG's are aggressive for their size. They will be fine for months and then just snap at each other and won't stop till one or both are dead. Especially if one is already injured the other will have taken it's chance to become dominant.

I agree. I would personally say 1 gourami and the molly would be best taken to a friend or to the LFS.

I've managed to give someone the Molly and my other fish seem happier. Unfortunately the gourami died after laying on its side for 3 days. I had put it in a breeding net to stop the others harassing it but it didn't get any better. Anyone know what might have been up with him?

update on the guppy fry,

they are now 6 1/2 weeks old

here is a video of them today. there is a guppy in there that has some strange colours, its like a rainbow. and others that have lovely blue tails with a hint or orange in their as well that i have just noticed

also i have noticed that one of the fry has stopped growing. it still eats fine but tends to hang around the filter a lot. has anyone seen this sort of thing before?

There's always the odd one in the bunch that is not so healthy. I wouldn't worry for now. Just keep an eye.
The rest are lovely and healthy looking.

Do you think it will survive? It sticks up for itself when i feed them and it always gets its share of the food. Maybe it's a dwarf? If that exists in guppy world lol

Yes, it may. It could be just stress, not sickness. Fish are pretty good at recovering themselves from minor things. My guppies used to bully each other when small. They were especially intolerant to their blonde siblings and one ended up with a forktail from being constantly nipped at feeding time. It recovered and was fine.
I have a bent spine one that is still living after almost a year and a half. He's spent most of his time boxing on one spot and not too sociable with the others but he's lived a long life for a guppy and still living. The curved spine isn't visible now but he's always looked skinny and way smaller and if I didn't know him, I would've said he's sick.

Ah ok, I will keep an eye on it and see how it goes, hopefully it will recover if anything has happened to it

sadly that little fry died :( i suppose it was only a matter of time i guess. all the others seem fine and seem to have had a growth spurt in a week! most of them now are about an inch long. they are 7 weeks old now and i was wondering if i might be feeding them to much. i have been feeding them flake food in the morning and flake food again when i get in from work. also a frozen cube of daphnia (defrosted) and they help my cory eat his pellets as well! here is the latest video of them:
