Money No Object....

I'm surprised the Pyrenean Mountain dog has not been mentioned.... They are beautiful, but unfortunately the South African climate is not ideal to keep them.... Anybody got experience with those??

One of my friends has a Great Pyreneese, she's a sweet dog, does a good job of herding his kids.

One of my neighbors also has one, every day when I drive by he's out in the yard bouncing around with a goofy look on his face.

got to be rottweilers for me.
they are really gentle and friendly, despite all the bad press. i grew up with rottweilers, and have never seen an aggressive one.

current rotties Millie and Kirby.

well i have to say staffys
ive been keeping them way before they became fashionable but like any dog in the wrong hands they can turn nasty its just that staffys are strong so when you do get a bad one it can do real damage
scot :good:

Money no object...a pair of Huskies or a pair of GSD's.

Though to be honest I probably wont ever 'buy' a dog per say. It really depends if I get dogs before I have children, but presuming I get them first then I'd go for a rescue dog.

I'd have another Paterdale Terrier , the family one passed away a week ago at the ripe old age of nearly 16 , perfect dog with people ! Very protective too, even when he was struggling to walk he shot after next door;'s 2 jack russells who went near my 2year old nephew. They don't back down from anything - doboerman's alsations you name it if it went near us it'd have a go to protect you.

I now have a pug that i'm happy with as they dont require much exercise so when you work full time it's not fussed , lays around and sleeps unless theres food about, although they are pretty thick dogs so training them to do the basic stuff like sit and down has taken me more than 6months!

Sounds like a good dog. My Dog (Who saddly passed away) Saved me when i was two from shocking on a 2p coin. He kept hinting to my mom something was up. And in the end she went to kick the dog out When i was chocking.

I Wish i knew that dog better shame i did'nt  :-(

why go pure breed, when you can get the best of all worlds.
my first dog had a mix of terrier, lab and golden, while we have a lab now i would still go get another mutt hands down, put it this way all mutts are unique and no one else will have another one like them.

i am including a picture of the late great Thunder. still miss her.

Well for me only 2 breeds stand out from the rest GSD and Greyhounds, love em.

my current dogs (i'd have more if allowed but i'm not :( )

1st is taz, 8 1/2 yr old german shepherd, bad tempered grumpy old man, was going to be destroyed by previous owners but he took to me so we had to have him

2nd is candy, 2 1/2yr old white german shepherd, daughter to taz, mum was also white and so were all the females in her litter and she was the runt but i chose her over all the others for that reason

I have a bit of a list lmao

Doberman - my friends Doberman just had a litter of 12 puppies and I asked Santa but Santa flipped out (lol silly mum  )
Siberian Husky or Alaskan Malamute
Great Dane

And of course, i would die for another Wiemaraner  I hope to get a pup one day

my next dog is gonna be a flat coat retriever. They actually do the breast stroke when in water! They are excellent gundogs and aren't overbread to death.

Boarder collies, welsh collies, siberian husky (but not an evil looking one, LOL!) . . . I like moderately furry working dogs. The more wolf-like the better.
