Good morning everyone.

I noticed this morning 2 of my Dalmation mollies have small rust/orange coloured marks on them, They are hard to spot and not very obvious.
Ive had a look on the interweb and have found loads of reasons as to why this could be happening. some say they may be pregnant some say it is because they may be hybrid and the colour of the crossed fish is starting to come through. Im not really any wiser as too whats causing this although the fish are swimming ok and feeding fine. Ive only had them about 4 days. the water is fully cycled and the water readings are fine. hasanyone else had this issue with other fish/mollies.

Orange is a fairly common color variation that we see on mollies, it is not a problem at all. I have seen many mollies that had a more or less orange body color to them rather than the more common grey or silvery color. I find it attractive but color forms of a fish have a beauty only in the eye of the beholder. If you like that color variant, try to fix it in the fry. If you do not like it, the fish are certainly healthy and you do not need to "save" any resulting fry.
