Oh God yes. I'll be on pins and needles until I know they've arrived safely. Makes me squirm just thinking about it :p

Edit: Just to let you guys sneak a peek at what one of the juvies with full colour looks like, here's an updated pic of male #6 who is going to BrookeLea ;):

"Food?? Aw, nope. Just poo :("

Luckily I've watched them bag fish at my LFS enough to know the technique for trapping air in the bags without using an air pump.

The people at our LFS just blow into the bags . . . now I'm curious! :p How did you do it?

you know.. i thought of blowing into the bags before... but.. (here i go with my lack of scientific knowledge) don't we breather out something other than oxygen? and don't fish breathe in oxygen? so, by blowing into the bag, wouldn't we be filling the bag with air that the fish can't breathe? i may be very wrong..that's just what i thought and why i didn't do it

i fill my bags with air by doing what looks like a strange ritual dance of sorts. haha i put the fish and the water in the bag, then i sort of start with the bag lower and raise it up sort of quickly and close it off to capture the air.... haha i do wonder how others do it.

If I remember correctly, we breathe out a mixture of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and leftover oxygen; pretty much the same things we breathe in, though as we breathe them out the concentrations change. We breathe out enough oxygen to sustain life for a short period of time, but I'm not sure if it's enough for a betta to survive on for a few days or not.

^_^ *cannot wait for baby*

hrm.. I've actually heard that you should breathe into the bags, but dont seal the area around your mouth. That way, what you're breathing out and the oxygen in the air will get into the bag .. It'd be cool if you had a tank of pure oxygen to inject into bags

I can't wait to see what pics you post next! They are all so awesome  Maybe a boy will catch my eye... and I can claim him before someone else does :sly:

I edited the original post and put the shipping prices there ;)
It's $4 for Priority and $18 for Express.

The way I trapped air in the bags is to hold them wide open, then quickly close off the top and fold it over a couple of times. Worked like a charm!

Synirr, I can definetely wait aslong as I have to, that might make things easier, until I am settled and it might be easier for the fishies too to travel when they aren't quite that young. It's a big trip up here. Would you mind holding male 1 and 3 if their gills are fine, and then I'd love to have another male and 3 females if you can fit that many. I'll wait until you put new pics up. Thanks! Oh do you know how much express would be to the Maritimes?

Alright, I'll hold them for you then. I have no idea how much Express shipping would be, but definitely over $20.

Is male number 20 really as orangish peachish redish as he looks? If so then I'd love to take him as well. That would be 3 males so far. I'm trying to remember what males 1 and 3 looked like. One was red as well, was the other one greenish? Cause I'd like to have a silverish green and a red and silverish female if you have plenty of them:)
