That was vengeance for him tearing her fins up, I'm sure, even if they are just little tears. :)

Wow, that was a visual. I could picture her slurping it up like spaghetti..."How ya like me now?!" :p
 
I promised myself I wasn't going to update this again until I had results, but I can't help myself... I'm so excited! :D

I was planning to wait longer for this, but Mini's fins have completely healed and she was flirting with A'albiel (whose bowl is near her tank,) so I put her back in her little bowl in the breeding tank... once again, she and Lil are flirting like mad! :hyper:
I'll release her in a couple of days... maybe this time I'll get some eggs. Fingers crossed!
 
As many problems as this attempted spawn has had, I'm almost ready to give up, lol! :rolleyes:

Since I put Mini back in the tank with Lil, she has seemed completely disenchanted with him... at first she'd give him a little flare or two, but nothing like the first time they met, and today she was ignoring him almost completely. In addition, Lil has been so busy showing off for her that he hasn't even started building a nest.

"This isn't going to work," I thought to myself, so I switched Lil with the new boy Wuv gave me and MAN, what a difference!!!
I don't know what it is... whether it's the difference in colour, or just the fact that Lil was rather rough with Mini and she didn't like it, but she DEFINITELY likes the red boy (he still needs a name...)

I think there's a much better chance of getting fry with the new guy, considering the way Mini is going absolutely bonkers over him. I'm excited, but at the same time disappointed because Lil is so pretty and I really wanted to breed him :(

So uh... I guess it's up to you, Kara. If this spawn works out I can send Lil back to you with some fry from Mini and the red boy, or if you're not missing him too much, I could keep him a bit longer and maybe try breeding him again with either Mini or another girl.. your choice :dunno:

You can hold on to him for a while longer, I would love to get him back along with some of his babies. I'm thinking I might start a female tank with some of his offspring. :)

Maybe I can breed him with one of Mini's offspring... or with Mini, once she forgets all about him and thinks he's a whole different male next time they meet :lol:
 
YES!!! I tried Mini with Lil one last time, and I think they've finally got eggs!!! :hyper:
I'm so, SO excited! I checked on them a while ago and they were fooling around under the nest, then I went to watch a movie and now I see what I think to be between 5 and 10 little eggies! I'm so happy ^_^

I was afraid Mini might even be eggbound because I saw them wrap a few times without success, but apparently not! Here's hoping I'll have more eggs and some healthy little wrigglers in a couple of days! :D
 
I'll try to snag some pics tomorrow, but I'm too afraid of disturbing the pair right now... Lil is doing a terrible job of keeping the eggs in the nest and away from Mini's mouth :p
I'm almost glad of that, because Mini is really freakin' full of eggs, and I don't want 43085490582 babies :lol:

Edit: Well, apparently the pair don't mind my camera flash, so here are a couple of pics... haven't got one of them embracing yet, but I'm working on it ;)
