Mini spawn diary

I went ahead and took Mini out since every time they attempted spawning they destroyed more of the nest and Lil was so distracted by her that he wasn't rebuilding it... The eggs were just falling out all over the place and Mini was eating them. It'll be a small spawn (50 or so,) but Mini has plenty of eggs left for next time

Lil destroyed the entire nest last night... I woke up this morning and there were no eggs, no bubbles, just an empty tank
Maybe the eggs were infertile or something? Either he went nuts, or he knows something I don't.

When I lifted up the cup the nest had been under to make sure I wasn't seeing things, one tiny little egg dropped to the ground. "What the heck" I figured, and I removed it with an eyedropper and put it in a cup. I'm going to laugh my arse off if it hatches

Oh well, I guess it's back to the drawing board.

I'm gonna try again, only this time I'm going to watch Lil like a hawk and may not leave him in there with the eggs overnight... I don't know. I'll decide what to do when the time comes, but I'm definitely going to try with Lil again since they at least successfully produced eggs this time

I have a Plakat male that ate his eggs. The first and second tries with him, he ate the eggs as soon as they started to wiggle and hatch. The third try, he was a model father.

Many do overcome it, but some are just brats. One of my Crowntail males has had three strikes, and he's fired from the breeding program.
