You know, me not being the expert I always wondered why there was a bubble next in Lil' Tank.... but I never thought anything of it because I didn't know a thing about female bettas! But I am 100% positive Lil' had a bubble nest in "her" tank!!! Does that mean she's a he?

Not at all, females can build nests just as much as the males. I've personally had females with sweet finnage like that too, just when I opened this thread I immediately thought that the gender of the fish were switched around before I read the text

I have a female Betta that builds nests in her tank all the time. She just isn't very good at it, and ends up with random clusters of bubbles all over the place.

It appears Malachi is too old to spawn... he's completely disinterested and has been sulking around in the tank since I put him in there yesterday. I was afraid this might be the case, since I have had him a long time. He's over a year old, at least. I guess I'm going to put Lil back in, playing the role of the male this time. I noticed that Lil's gill flaps are longer than those of any female I've ever seen, so maybe...
Even if Lil is female, the worst that can happen is a few torn fins if I put them together

Mini has so many eggs now that I'm beginning to worry about the size of the spawn, lol!! I can see them inside her, and all I can say is that there are a whole freakin' lot. They extend down her body past her ovipositor

This may end up being a larger spawn than I expected, assuming everything works out...

Incase you can't tell, the big white stuff around the edges is part of a styrofoam cup... I'm just clarifying because I think the pic is a little hard to interpret
But yep, your little "girl" made that bubblenest in the middle!
Hopefully it will be even bigger by tomorrow... I'm hoping to release mini into the tank tomorrow
