SM PRE-MATCH Press Conference with Toulouse Manager RossyT.;

Q. It has been reported that you have had a showdown meeting with club captain J.VALERON, is this true and why?

A. 'Juan came to me saying that he was concerned over the increased competition due to the arrival of N.Solano on Loan for the remainder of the campaign....I pointed out that my aim is to improve the quality of the squad and that just because he was Captain did not guarentee him starting every match, especially as he is 33 now.

Q. How did he react?

A. Well......his reaction was not one of a so-called mature person. Lets just say he made his feelings known to me and he will be receiving a bill in the post for the Training cones which were smashed against the wall! It is a shame, as he seemed to be a fans favourite since his move from Spain, but under my regime he certainly won't be wearing the Captains armband again.

Q. Oh, right. Any clues on the starting 11 for your big game versus A.Villa tomorrow??
A. Well, No Valeron for starters...
I have put Nobby (Solano) straight in on the right and subsequently moved FABINHO to the role behind the front two. Those front two will be a little n' large partnership of recent signings B.GOMIS and F-S PONGOLLE. Florent and Nobby will hope to have good debuts and I will also seek to bring on Gio Dos SANTOS off the bench as weary legs tire.
The defence and rest of Midfield will remain unchanged after a decent display against Napoli, with the new Captaincy going to Keeper DOUCHEZ. He was very emotional when I told him the news> he used all my tissues.

Q. What are your expectations for the Villa match?
A. All I want is for the lads to use there talents to good effect and play to my instructions. I feel we may manage a point if we neutralise the obvious striking threat of Crouch, Kovacevic and co., but who knows?? We have a few tasty options upfront ourselves and I can't see it ending 0-0, that is for sure.

Q. Thankyou for that. Is there any truth in the rumours that you are looking to sign a commanding Central Defender?

A. It's no secret that we are targetting a central defender and we hope to be making progress in the next week or so.
>My scouts are on over-time and glugging RedBull at the moment!! (Chuckles to himself)

Thankyou, thats all folks....I need to go and buy some more Cones for the next training session. (Mutters something about ebay to Assistant Coach as he departs)

Defiant Valeron response.....?

The Evening edition of 'Le Blanc Fibber' has claimed that dropped veteran J.VALERON has stated there was no bust-up with his new manager and that it is simply a case of him carrying a 'slight knock' for the reason behind his ommission from Wednesdays Squad.

He went on to say that he has belief in his own ability to get his place back when fit and that he hopes his manager does not overlook him for next Saturday which he has already declared himself fully fit for that date.

There was no exact description of the injury, but rumours of it being 'cone-related' were denied by his agent Manuel Miguel.

*****Transfer Update;*****
Veteran defender D.Arribage has agreed a 580k move away from France, although his destination is not yet clear> with clubs in Eastern Europe mentioned on Le SportTalk105.

Comments in the Manchester EveningChronicle are suggesting a deal involving Toulouse and an un-named midfielder, with M.Carrick the likely player....allegedly he wants a change in lifestyle and to sample a different culture.

Swift movers hovvering for 'El Rebel without a cause Valeron'......

Late night reports emerging from France are suggesting the recently dropped Midfielder J.VALERON has been subject to a bid from Estudiantes, whom are aiming to climb away from the relegation zone by adding the experienced Spaniard to their squad.

>A bid of around 2Million should persuade the Toulouse Chairman to allow the annoyed Matador to depart after less than a season in France.

(As long as he pays for the recent training ground damage, a deal could be signed and sealed within the next 24hrs.)

Carrick would be a big signing for your team

Dortmund and Toulose are very busy buying and selling players i've noticed from looking at the transfers page.

Feyenoord Pre-Match Conference

Q. Dan, Your up against Manchester City today, a formidable and respected team throughout the league, what are your thoughts about the game?

A. Well their manager joined the club at the beginning of the season so no doubt this has helped city mass a good squad together because not only do they have quality on the pitch, looking at their squad there is a large amount of quality off the pitch also, this is something that takes time and unfortunatley i haven't had as much time before todays game to match city in those terms.

But i still feel we can take the win, we played City a week or so ago in a friendly, their side hasn't changed much from that game although we have strengthened. We won that game 1 - 0 but we had only 1 shot all game. City have scored more goals than any other side in the league and boast the joint best defensive record along with ourselves. This is a tasty game for the neutral fan no doubt. Plenty of goals this time i feel... perhaps 3 - 2 Feyenoord

Q. What tactics will you use to address City's offensive play?

A. No secret that City are an attacking side, who press the opponenent heavily when they haven't got the ball. This tires their team out later on in the game and manager sean johnson doesn't make many subs to counter this problem, i will be using this weakness in todays game.
We are also an attacking minded side but tommorow i will ask my players to be keep hold of the ball more and make the hard working city players tire themselves out, we will then come on strong halfway through the second half with counter attacks and direct passing to create chances.

Q. Much going on off the pitch?

A. To be honest with the fans, not very much right, I've drawn up my shortlist and am constantly in touch with the board and chairman but as i said before, i've had lots of support already and any money i want now i will have to raise through sales. This is a problem because of the amount of players we have, only 19 of our own and 1 on loan. G Bale was sent back today to help cut costs he did make a few subsitute appearences and did impress me but i feel we will manage okay without him and for this reason i felt no need to spend 21k a week for his services.

Finally, Where do you think is a realistic position for your side to finish this season?

Q. We are top now but tommorows game will tell me everything i need to know regarding how we are progressing and if we really are promotion material, we may be entering the final third of the season but there is still alot that can happen so it's hard to say. We are chasing promotion and i do expect my side to playing in division 3 next season.

I've been here for 6 games now, 1 friendly which we won and 5 league games, i have 4 wins and 1 draw to show for those which is a good record to start with. I hope we can make it 5 league wins tommorow. The club has matched it's longest unbeaten record by beating Dortmund last week if we don't lose tommorow then we have set ourselves a new record which is always something to be proud of.

Today TFF predictions:

Lille 0 - 1 Estudiantes - I think you can put an end to the clubs 8 game winless run. Lille did win their last game after a very bad run so who knows?

Toulouse - 1 - 2 Villa - Dinamo did well to draw last game i just find it hard to bet against villa. It wouldn't be a big shock if you drew though

Manchester City 2 - 1 Feyenoord - I said 3-2 but i feel that city will use the home advantage and claim the win. Would settle for a point though

Dinamo 1 - 2 America - Up 2nd place who are in decent form. It will be a tough game

Dortmund 2 - 0 Rennes - Not bad form for rennes but i think you should have too much for them especially being at home

Spartak - 0 - 1 Boro - I've spoken to boro manager and he has spoken about an easy win. I don't think it will be easy but i predict an away win

I agree, Villa have a good overall quality squad and my recent activity in the Transfer market is an indication of our aim to emulate a similar standard as Villa.
I am pondering whether to change my tactics in order to combat the 3 strikers, but I also feel with home advantage we should have a go at them. (Its a shame you can't change tactics during a match...)

*******Transfer Update*********

Soccer Manager Transfer News

Rumours circulating the Feyenoord training camp claim that Feyenoord have pulled of a treble transfer coup this morning with the arrival of the following three players:

A Zickler (88), S Ballesteros (88) & G Torrado (90)

However, the club would not confirm or deny these allegations and said manager Dan walmsley would comment in his post most conference later today.

It has been confirmed at 11a.m(GMT) by Reuters Press and 'LeTeletext Servico' that J.VALERON has indeed signed for his third club in a year, after agreeing to join Estuitandes for a 2.1Million fee.

Both parties will be happy with the outcome after a reported bust-up between the veteran former Captain and his Manager.

>>>Toulouse will look to move onwards & upwards with his influence gone from the dressing room and will no doubt be persuing other targets following his departure.

(The Text messages received by some players from Valeron now seem to be correct, however it is uncertain whether the fine imposed for damages to Toulouse property have been paid.)

Soccer Manager Transfer Breaking News

Reports in Germany are indicating that Borussia Dortmund have pulled the plug on both Reinaldo Navia and Jan Polak. A Club statement was issued early today. "We sadly are anouncing that both Navia and Polak will not be joing the club this season. Both Clubs were holding out for more money, Racing Club were holding out for another £2 million to bring the total transfer to £6 million and Anderlecht were holding out for another £3 million bring the transfer to £15 million. Both the current board and manager Andrew Watson believe that a combind transfer of £21 million was just to much for these players. Although both players had agreed personal terms the tranfers were canceled this morning. We hope this situation does not hamper in any way todays game against Rennes. On a lighter note, the club however can confirm that it is in deep neogitions with a number of big clubs with possible transfers coming to the club. We can not announce who at this stage. The club can also confirm that Uwe Hunemeier as joined Tenerife for £2.1 million and Sebastian Tyrala has compleated his move to Pro Sesto for £1.725 million."

****Another Depature from Toulouse***

Following a surprise bid which was over the Valuation for Gambian Defender M.FOFANA, a deal with Le Mans of 4.2Million has been given the green light by both parties.
This will boost an ever-increasing Transfer Fund for Toulouse as they seek to increase the overall quality of the squad.

It is believed bids for several Central defenders have been made, and this extra 4.2M will be highly welcomed and used to good effect.

The central spine of the team is of paramount importance, with moves for flair players such as J-A Reyes and S.Govou highly unlikely at this stage. :shifty:

Big Changes at Dinamo Zargreb
The Chairman of Dinamo Zargreb has made a bold decision this week and appointed the disgraced English manager, Andrew Mcleod, as head coach. You may remember Andrew as the manager forced to quit his high payed job managing Leicester City after allegations of his fish keeping hobby got him into hot water with the Chairman.

Eager to make an impact on League 4 this ambitious young manager has signed 4 first team players already and is still looking for more players to help turn the clubs fortunes around.

Joining Andrew from England are The highly rated duo of Kieron Dyer and Ashley Young. Both successful Premiership players who are hoping for a long successful career at Dinamo. Also joining the club are Swedish midfielder Daniel Anderson and Turkish defender Yaman Volkan. All 4 are straight into the first team, playing America tonight.

Andrews first game in charge was last weekend against Aston Villa, in which his team played well against this highly rated team for a 3-3 draw. He hopes his new signings and several key players returning to fitness will help push Dinamo Zargreb up the league.

Good signing in Young, i think he was top scorer or best goals per game ratio if i remember, i tried to sign him for 16million but it got rejected.

The 13mil and the player you signed him for was very good business

Good luck to everyone tonight
