Woo! I'm ready for the opening ceremonies to begin! I'm overly excited lol

I'm chilled out on the sofa waiting for the opening ceremony to start. I love it! I usually hate sports, but the Olympics are great. I will hopefully be able to watch some of the events, if I can convince a little person that Peppa Pig and Dora the Explorer isn't all  I especially look forward to the diving, gymnastics and marathon.

Maybe I'll watch Tom Daley do diving... :hey: But that's about it  My friend and her family (a.k.a THE sportiest family you will EVER meet) are going to watch the diving ;)

Its not fair I have to wait all the way untill tonight to see the opening ceremonies. They are on now right? plgh. Unfair.

 I am utterly sick to death of olympics this and olympics that and every other bloomin thing is olympics (and then most of the things in between more news on olympics are olympic related). Its like people completely forget anything else exists outside the olympics.

And like we all need more excuses to sit on our backsides in front of the tv!? Surely the olympics are meant to encourage people to exercise more!? so therefor i might just take myself out for a walk to avoid watching it :)

And i am furious they have abolished sunday trading hours because i am earning an absolute pittance and now i have to work an extra 3 hours on a sunday for no extra money whilst still trying to find a lot of hours a week to do my psychology coursework. :grr:

Might watch some equestrian events purely because no doubt mum will record them and subject us to them whilst we eat dinner and i dont mind watching horses, whether our team or not, racing or jumping.

Not sure if it was winter olympics or not but fair few years ago i got *REALLY* drunk and decided that at 1 am, watching Curling?! for 2-3 hours was a great idea... im not sure why but i think being drunk actually made the worlds most utterly boring event seem exciting..

My mum just came in my room and called me a boring cowbag for not wanting to join the family watching the Opening for the olympics... great.. maybe if i take some wine or vodka with me it might amuse me more... :shifty:

Are you kidding me.3 weeks of sport, with 24 or so ,different channels showing everything.
It doesn't get any better than this. You could say i'm quite excited by the whole thing.
Yes,we probably could have spent the money on something else, but it's a chance to show off our great country, and for everyone to enjoy themselves, sporty or not.

I'll be watching some of it, equestrian & athletics, & maybe a couple of other events.
I daren't not watch some of it as my son in law works for the EIS (English Institute of Sports) as the senior talent scientist & some of the people he's brought through are in the GB team, handball I think
Don't think much of the opening ceremony so far apart from Bond & the Queen

This is bringing out the patriot in me. The ceremony is fantastically British!
