Well, a bit of a panic situation last night as turned filter on after large water change and it didn't work !!!! running around like a headless chicken unsure of what to do next. Seeing my whole 51 day cycle going down the drain. Decided to give impellar a bit of a clean and hey presto !!! back in full working order and today have Zero Ammonia and zero Nitrites in 12hrs !!! The water changes really do make a difference. Hopefully if I get double zeros in the morning too then my qualification week finally begins

Lol that's good. Loads quicker than mine then!

You never know though....might have a couple of days of double zero's then just when I think I can begin to celebrate....up go the Nitrites again, so are cautiously optimistic. Still haven't a clue what i'm getting although saw some Diamond tetra's and like them. My list changes daily lol

OH I know they're beautiful! They're one of the few fish that actually do "sparkle". I think they're too big for my tank though :(

No, you have a 60ish litre like me don't you. When I read up on them they get to 6cm max and the tank size recommended as a minimum was 60litre.

Really? :hyper: So get some! They're on my list of fish I i'll deffo get when I get a bigger tank. I'm gonna make a list of every fish I want over like the next year or so, then buy a tank big enough to accomodate them :D

Yeah, i'm saving to get a new one in the new year. You could get the Diamond tetra's no probs. I wanted the Sparkling Gourami's too but they don't get on with the Diamond's during the breeding season. Oh I so want a Biiiiiiiiiiig tank lol

Yeah :D , speaking of the diamond tetra thing, one of the things I like about the tropical fish hobby is that you can walk in to one of your shops on a particular day and see some fish they've received and either it will be totally new to you or the particular ones they've received will be so good that you see the fish like you've never seen it before. Sometimes I think this is why tetras get to me as much as they do - there are a lot of types and sometimes you just haven't seen one of them in a while and it suddenly strikes you they are a more beautiful fish than you previously realized. They can be so subtle and it takes some real patience (for me at least) to fully realize the beauty in a given shoal of fish. I find myself still marveling that nature could have produced this on this lonely ball of rock spinning in space!

Diamond tetra's were on my list also. They look amazing but I doubt I'll get them as I'm yet to find a London based breeder.

Bloodfins also look really cool!

Good luck with your stocking list

Hi WD

I love most Tetras I think. That's what I want one day, a tank with a few different shoals of them (among other things). I think it may need to be about 100 gallons

Do you have Diamonds?

One of my crappy ones does. You should ask if they'll order them for you?
