they do look stunning, i have one on a 2ft tank. but to do 6.5ft would be very expensive and mean stripping the tank down again which is 100% not happening until it comes into the house. unless you want to help me

just got back from Wharf aquatics with some new fish :hey:

1st of all i swapped the giraffe catfish for a 2nd humbug catfish thats about 5-6 inches

the Uarus i went to get didnt look 100% so i didnt bother with them but got this wild caught pike cichlid - crenicichla strigata  its a little washed out at the minute but looked gorgeous in the shop. im sure it will colour back up in no time :)
003-18.jpg

and last but not least i got an EBJD. very small so it will be ages before it goes in the tank with the other but couldnt resist it :hyper:

very cool pitty about the uarus but the pike chiclid

yeah the Uarus had lots of damage and white patches on them. they seemed fine last week when i went.... oh well! another time maybe :hey:

the pike cichlid is about 4.5-5 inches at the minute. it was in a tank with about 8 of them and some silver dollars, they were awesome to watch and very greedy little things as the shop worker demonstrated by feeding them for me to see :hyper: it may get to 12-14 inches so will get huge but couldnt resist it. i just hope it doesnt go for my BGK once its finished its quarentine period

with the pike and the future adition of the EBJD when its big enough i am now officially stocked :good:

i figured the pikes shape would put the other fish from having a go at it as its not average cichlid shape and it would give the tank something that little different. they seemed very out going in the store so lets hope its not going to hide away. although i have a very funny feeling if it does that ill see it at feeding time

sounds good to me matey hopefully the discus will be gone soon

how cute EBJD  again at first sight
nice looking fish matt

You've made me very happy Matt. Glad I'm not the only EBJD keeper on here who actively posts. I shall be watching closely over the coming months to see how he/ she grows. Clearly to young to tell the sex yet, altho the dorsal fin has the upward flick you would expect with a female. Much the same as my juvi female EBJD did, unfortunately I lost mine after a few months from clouded eyes. Hope yours turns out as nice as mine, seems to be 50/50 wether they come out ugly or not lol. You've picked a cutey I'll give you that.
