Large Empty Tank And Thinking Of Oscars.....

ill have to practice my photography skills then and try to get better pics for you guys

there is talk of Keith and friends moving into the house :hyper: i will have to empty my other tank thats currently in the conservatory and sell the stock but that means i get to spend more time with Keith and i can see him from the lounge....
its nothing that will happen over night as i will need a stand/cabinet and hood made but it may just happen :)

this has been a kind of deal with the wife. if i shut down my other tanks she will (might) allow the move to happen...... :hey:

Nice pics, loads better than mine  Rottie has loads of red in the face compared to mine, mine are blue with red squiggles lovely fish all of them.

There is a chap advertising on ac quite often who makes stands, I asked a while back about making a stand for my spare 400 he was only going to charge about £60, if I spot his add again I will either stick the link on here or pm it to you. Or are you making your own?

Sorry Matt it took me ages to find it, I thought he was manchester  . I have spoken to him by e-mail, seems a really nice chap, the only down side is you would have to collect.

has anyone got any experience with texas cichlids at all?

the reason i ask is that last week an lfs had a 6-7 inch blue texas in at £30 that shared a tank with about 4 parrots and looked very relaxed and chilled with them and there was no aggression at all. i know these are suppose to be aggressive and bullys but i also know that its down to the individual fish too.

would you risk adding it to my tank?

just a thought as i might add 1 more fish to finish off the stocking and if this was suitable then it might be tempting..... :hey:

£30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need a fainting smiley!!!!

No wonder I have had 4 people in the last 6 weeks asking me to sell mine  4-5" at Shirley aquatics were £15 and I thought that was steep.

think he is overpriced also its risking the harmony in the tank if its not broke don't fix it

just rang the lfs and its up for £40 not £30 so i think ill leave it where it is......

im kind of thinking of 1 more cichlid for this tank so back tot he drawing board....

just a thought.... would the other pair of rotkeils be ok in there? i know its 2 more fish but they arent the biggest max size. would the 3 rotkeils and the gold sev be asling for trouble?

I think it would b best just to have the pair of rotkeils because otherwise you could have problems if they spawn. Puse theses already quite a few big fish in there. Can you not get the female that was a pair with the male you already have?

Having a pair might be asking for trouble once they spawn expecially with the other male and the gold. I tried a pair of greens with my rotkeil pair, there was a fair bit of squabbling between the males and females (males fighing & females fighting).

Texas are usually pretty easy to come by, as I said there are 2 at shirley aquatics but only about 4"

yeah i didnt think it would work some how.....

would you say the ones at shirley are 4 inches with or without the tail star? i think they might be a bit too small to be honest....

ill keep looking for my last fish

Would say one was with tail one was without.
