Large Empty Tank And Thinking Of Oscars.....

Maybe visit Blackpool for the weekend and pick up catfish on the way home?

Failing that, how about using APC or a similar livestock courier?
have you been to Blackpool

yeah a courier might be a good option. ive never used one before, do i just ring them up and arrange the collection?
any idea on costs?

does anyone know anyone that lives in morcambe bay?

i seem to have an issue with my 2 sun cats..... for the first few weeks they have been in quarentine together and seemed fine and playing together almost like corys! the last few days they have really been at each other and i saw a white mark on 1 of them which i put down to fighting. the only other thing it could be is a heater burn
so i split them up and have now got them in different tanks. my problem is that since splitting them up the bully cat jusy hides in a cave and doesnt seem to be eating, if it is then ive not ssen it eat. and the other one that had the white mark has been active but also not eating, today i found this fish facing head down in a bunch of vallis it looked almost dead. i gave it a light prod and it jumped out and hid.
they were both together in a 2 ft tank with 2 caves and a few plants for shade.
the cats are about 2.5 inches in length each.
both fish ate massively before i split them up

so have i got a pair of catfish that love to hate each other and are better off together?
is it because they are teritorial and the tank was a bit small for 2?
could it be a mating think? (although they are still very young)

i bought 2 as i thought that it would make them more visible and active and read that they wont get teritorial until adults and even then can be friendly so didnt see this as an issue.

I really do not know about sun cats, however when I had just 2 pictus cats they squabbled like mad, added 2 more and they all get on great.

i want whats best for them but dont really want 4 sun cats as they get quite big when adult and i dont have the room for 4! the thing is i dont want to add them to the big tank as it will be a right mission i dont want to go through trying to catch them again  if i add just 1 then from previous experience ill never see it until its too big to hide

Would you have room for 3, maybe an odd number would be ok?

yeah i did think of trying this to be honest. maybe when the rio 180 has finished cycling my filter i can get another and add them all into the 180

What about getting a group now and then thinning them out as they grow?
