L_Plates - Shrimp Tank

just be aware of the melt and keep up with the tank husbandry, and you will be on a winner.

you should be very proud of that mate!

This should look great once grown in. :good:

Cheers Ian, and thanks for all the pointers.

Totally agree with Ian, superb planting job mate and it will look excellent once it's filled out :good:

Cheers Jake.

Daily Regime Planned is:

Ferts EI: 5ml a day alternate macro and micro one day rest.
Carbon: 1ml daily of Excel, might go pressurized when i old reg comes back from germany.
Lights: 8hrs day, is that to much to start ? was going to lower it after a few weeks to say 7.

Water Changes ?
Should i do daily water changes for the first week at all ? I have read people doing then daily or every other day for a few weeks on newly planted tanks.

Cheers Tizer.

So Shrimp, will it be best to wait for a week before ordering shrimp ? People say Florabase does and does not leach ammonia.

Have you noticed any leaching Ian, or anyone one else that has used this substrate.

Cheers

oooh, what shrimp you going for? Get something different! Everyone gets the boring cherry ones :(

Crystal Reds, but like i say not sure if its ok to order today for delivery tomorrow.

I have mature media ready to go.

I would let it stabilise for a week mate incase the ammonia creeps up with the planted substrate?

Unsure mate tbh, but that's what i'd do.

Looks fantastic LP too! :good: well done!

Cheers mate, probably the best idea really. CRS are not cheap so if i wait i might be able to source some from the forums instead of paying £7 each from aquaessentials !

LP

 HOLEY MOLEY!!!!!!!!!

You could get some different ones from ebay for cheaper surely? Or is it CRS that you really want? What about Blues, Yellows or Greens?

Tried AC?

Yeh i want CRS, i have just sent a message to a guy on a forum who lives 30 minutes from me who had some for sale so im hoping he replies as they was a lot cheaper.

Expensive still, but a more realistic price imo. My lfs sell Orange Shrimp for about £2.50 each, so £3.30 each delivered is great!
