L_Plates - Shrimp Tank

Loving the scape mate, really liking the stem in there too, shrimp looking great as well. I was thinking of getting some crs but decided to get some tiger shrimp in the end, equally as eye catching, last time I tried crs they all died lol. :(

Cheers buddy, the stem is the A Mini that Ian mentioned in your new journal.

Basically, the higher the grade, the more white on the shrimp's body and they show better quality colouring than the lower grades. :good:

looking great LP, I really want some CRS, and ive been holding off getting anything untill i can find something other than cherrys. If I could find cardinal shrimp, I be all over those as well.

As cazzie said its all down to the amount of white.

I however think the best looking are the S grades. Nice definitive white and red lines.

i spoke too soon about the CRS, with hard water, and a higher ph, im probably not going to go with CRS. seems they like the other side of the scale.

I have just been offered some Japonica Shrimp and was wondering if they would be ok in with the CRS or will it cause problems ?

LP

Cheers Jake, there are only 4 shrimp. I have been offered 8 sterbai, 3 sae and the shrimp + loads of plants for £20 as he is going to back to Japan.

Are SAE friendly to most fish ? as i would need to add them to my community tank. The stock is in my sig.

Cheers

True sae's have a much better temperament but can still be little s***s from time to time.... the other ones can be really aggressive though.

So do I, the colour boundaries are nice and crisp, and the colours are not overwhelming. I'm considering the option of getting some S grade CBS for my 180...

Hard water and a higher pH suggests Cardinals might be the way to go... I'm sure there's someone on here who has some kind of Indonesian shrimp for sale... might be worth PMing and asking if they're the right ones... Ben something :dunno:

Gutted !

Last night my replacement regulator that i was going to use for this tanks pressurized Co2 setup arrived but the dials was smashed. :(

It is one from Lunapet off of Ebay. I have been in touch with them again on what to do next as i do not want to have to resend it back again its £8 each time !

Anyway, my question is ...

When using pressurized Co2 in a shrimp tank do i run it the same as my community tank ? On 2hrs before lights and off 2 hrs before lights out ? or will this cause to much of a PH swing that the shrimp cannot handle ?

I have heard of a few people having the Co2 kick in when lights go on, but if i do that there will not be enough co2 in the water for the plants to cope with the lights.

Looks like i will have to continue with the liquid carbon a little longer.

Any help is appreciated.
