L_Plates - Shrimp Tank

Yeah grade S but we'll see when they turn up lol now get over and post on my journal lol so need it to be busier I get so bored lol

Just a quick update.

The 2 Japonica and 10 RCS seem happy still, no losses which is great news.

The Alternanthera Rosaefolia Mini is nearly out of the water at the back so i will need to trim this within a few days. All the plants seem healthy and growing well. The Hc is looking good as well so far. A few runners are being sent out but nothing on a huge scale.

50% Water change tomorrow to freshen it up a little.

Ok picture time :)

Hmmm I want your Rosaefolia lol, looking good mate, if you want to swap some cuttings let me know, you can see the range of plants in my journals if you do fancy a swap.

If i remember corretly when i trim them, the bottom piece of the cutting will no longer grow ? Or am i wrong?

No, the bottom part where you cut wont grow but it will send out side shoots, you can re-plant the top half to aid coverage :good:

Ok well when i trim them i will place the bottom half in a propogator and then do some donations :)

Cheers Ian.

Well today my Fissidens Moss arrived from Bulgaria, very very healthy looking moss.

Here is a snap.

Also i trimmed the Alternanthera Rosaefolia Mini whilst doing a water change. I have kept the cuttings in the propagator for later donations.

The Fissidens as i said arrived but there a lot so this is what i have spare. There is enough to cover the same area in the tank another 2 times ! Will it be ok kept like so in the propagator ? Full submerged.

Unfortunately i am not allowed to sit this on a windowsill as the boss says it will look horrible :/

Would this be ok in the garage on top of the breeding tank ? It does get some light during the day but not a lot. Currently it is sat next to the shrimp tank, the only light the plants would get is light from the tanks and room.

i would leave it to float in the propagator rather thank weigh it down. :good: it'll get more light that way.

looking great mate!

what about a small shoal of micro rasboras?

Its not weighed down mate it sinks on its own as there is a lot of moss on the mesh, Should i drain some of the water ?

Also is should get around 6-7 hrs light a day from the tank and lamp. I hope its going to be ok sat there as there are a few other plants in the box as you can see in the pic.

Im going to keep this 100% shrimp Ian, let the numbers increase via shrimplets :)

The hc still going good, i hae not seem any more melting yet.

Cheers mate, LP
