I will try for some pics at feeding time tonight, will give some white and blood worm, they love both of those (Queenie does anyway)

Are they like other plecs such as Zebra where they like a tunnel type cave for breeding??
I have some bits of slate I can use to make one if that is the case.

Yes hun they will be cave spawners, cave size usually double ish lengh of fish and big enough for the male to trap female

bloodworm, tetra prima, prawns also earthworm pellets are good for conditioning.... and beens they prefer a meaty diet anyways they'll appriciate it

I use Tetra prima as a staple anyway, I feed a huge variety of Gamma frozen foods and I have prawns for my marine tank so all I need to get is some earthworm pellets, Queenie also loves the brineshrimp enhanced with Spirulina, he may like that too.

Do they like a lower temp water change for conditioning as well?

I use Tetra prima as a staple anyway, I feed a huge variety of Gamma frozen foods and I have prawns for my marine tank so all I need to get is some earthworm pellets, Queenie also loves the brineshrimp enhanced with Spirulina, he may like that too.

If possible the best results people have made is using RO water as the water change and drop the temp 3-7 degrees, well fed and good conditioning and the most important part ... fingers crossed lol

I can certainly do that, I use RO for my marine tank so it will not be a hardship. Intending to get an RO unit soon anyway. I am presuming that the RO will lower pH and KH and simulate the acid conditions of haevy tropical rain. Quennie is a little fat as you know anyway and he does look very well fed too.

Will do as you suggest and most of all cross those fingers.

If attempts in the 4ft fail, I am upgrading my nano reef soon (father in law collecting tank tonight, be with me on Saturday) so very soon I will have a 20g long sitting spare, I can always use this as a dedicated breeding tank and will definately use it to grow on any fry I get (IF).

Pretty much got it there hun, you may have problem in a 4 foot tank anyways with them not really needing to be close to each other, 2.5 foot recommned with about 3-4 caves in and then see if the situation changes.

If they seem interested over a particular time and both spend time in and out of 1 cave, wait till she really does look like she could be ready and remove all the other caves just leaving the 1 most used it may encourage them just that little more lol

Also a possible introduction of another female?, ratio is better 2 to 1 anyways

At the moment my tank seems to have gone a little breeding crazy. I have one pair of angels that are cleaning a large anubia and shooing off the other two to the other end of the tank. (my black marbe and Koi are the pair). Then this afternoon my large male BN has started to clean out a cave, I may have a breeding age female, no odontodes that I have noticed and no bristles apart from a few round the mouth.

This new boy could really add to this as these are the ones I really want to breed. I do not intend to raise the angel fry as I would need too many tanks but if a few make it then so be it. The BN's could probably raise a few in the tank and I do have my old PFK aquacube that I could put a few fryin there too.

Thanks for the crossed fingers, if I had any feeling in the toes on my right foot, they would be crossed too.
