Brilliant! Am I gonna see you on the cover of National Geographic someday?
You have a Google Pixel 4, right? I’m halfway tempted to buy a used one on eBay, as a camera only.

If only pictures of my own fish could get me that far!
Pixel 4A, the economy version haha. $400 new, no contract in Canada. Works pretty good overall, less camera settings than my previous Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge though. The portrait mode on the Pixel is impressive though.

OMG! The reflections! Even when I turned off the tank LED. Most are from the opposite side of the room where 3 smaller tanks sit on built-in drawers between built-in bookcases. May try tacking a black sheet to the bookcases to block light coming from window behind the 3 tanks.
Digital cameras are notorious for picking up reflections from glass. I used to wear dark clothes (including a long sleeve shirt and gloves) when photographing fish. (Think ninja photographing fish). I even coloured in the red flash button found on the front of some cameras to stop that appearing in pictures.

I used to put black card on the front of my digital video camera to stop reflections from the front of the camera.

Very nice! Are they actually that pale or is it the photo? Mine are pinker, with darker gills. I thought yours were Lucys too.

Mine are pretty pale. Kirby especially (the one in the photo). He was pale even in the photos from the breeder. My other Lucy, Ponyo, is a lot pinker overall. He Is a bluegill Lucy, so his gills are a little different. I have heard that low GH can make them paler, but everyone around here says the GH I have is fine. What is your GH? Mine is 5. I may try raising it snd see if it makes a difference

I didn’t even know there were varieties of Lucys. I thought they were all pale pink, with black eyes & darker gills than the body. Gonna have to take a look.

I don’t know what the GH is. I have the test kit, but stopped doing GH when it was always the same or very close in my tanks. I can’t even remember what it was, other than a good range. I’ll let you know soon.

The original axolotl was almost black with a dark mottled pattern. They developed brown, gold, white and pink varieties. Some of the light coloured forms have dark eyes and others have pink eyes.
