Johns 450ltr (110 Gals) Journal

I haven't paid much attention to this thread recently john, and I apologise! Boy have I been missing out! Your tank is absolutely stunning, it's a real credit to you sir, especially as it's your first attempt! The plants have filled out really nicely, such lovely lush greens. Your photography skills have also come on in leaps and bounds. I can't imagine how amazing this tank must be in the flesh, as pictures never truly do justice!
All it needs now is a nice shoal of discus!

Regards

Sounds like a plan John :good:

Who at Aquajardins retired? That's a pitty, they always did great plants and planted 'stuff'. Do that mean they are not going to stock tropica anymore or are they just looking for someone to take over the ordering from tropica?

Let use know how you get on with Plants alive, there have been a lot of very mixed results from them.

Hi Sam, i think you have the wrong end of the stick the person who retired was the tropica supplier to aqujardin no one at the store has retired lol, they have infact found a new supplier of tropica plants but its in its infancy at the moment so i thought i would give plants alive a try, i have added some new plants over the weekend, i removed the hc because it just seemed to keep growing in mounds instead of carpeting and i have added some more pogostemon helferi, and some eleocharis acicularis these were bought from aquatic habitat glos, tomorrow my plants should be here from plants alive which are hemianthus micranthemoides, echinodorus latifolious, and some vallisneria spiralis " tortifolia", i will post some new pics as soon as possible because i am away at sams this weekend then i am away the following weekend with some boxing fans friends of mine for a Ricky Hatton weekend, regards john.

Hi all, first of all let me say this plants alive suck, i will never use them again all i managed to salvage was the pogostemon helferi, the rest went in to the bin i was told by phone by a young lady called Gill that my plants would arrive wednesday 28th i acctually offered to pay for next day dely but she said no need they will be there tomorrow, they came on saturday totally crap, any way some better news after a get together with he guys from ukaps last weekend i arrived home to find my golden rams had spawned, now when i bought my six rams i asked for all males and i the guy assured me i had all males so there ya go my males have spawned well one of them has lol, i will post some pics of the eggs later this week, regards john

I personally hate Plants alive, their whole attitude was born out by the quality of the plants they sent George for the Festival of Fishkeeping, you'd think with an advert like that you'd have sent decent plants, most were crap, some ok but none nearly as good as they should have been.

BTW john did you get my pm over of UKAPS?

Sam

Hi all, just a little update on the eggs, i am afraid the female ate the eggs yesterday evening , i am off to vienna austria for a week for the wifes 50th birthday treat and xmas shopping, i have rescaped the foreground and the back ground middle, i will post some new pics when i return from mini break, (lets hope my son remembers to feed my plants and fish  regards john

Hi all, firstly my wife and i had a lovely time in Vienna but i was glad to get home to see what my son had been up to with my set up, the tank was in pretty good condition but there was a bit of hair algae on some of the plant leaves but that can be taken care of quite easily, as some of you have requested some pics here are some for you all to comment on regards john.
