Jeffery's 100 Us Gallon Planted Aquarium

also u may want to use liquid ferts instead. I have fund them to work much better

dry ferts are a lot cheaper. I'm running a 100gal and if I used liquid ferts, I'd be paying £10 every 2 weeks. I've just done an order on the internet for a years worth of dry ferts, and I've paid £65approx for the lot.

When I first planted my tank I knew nothing at all about plants. So I got a tropica catalogue off ebay. Great book - huge variety of plants, and a description of each, with requirements.

My flourite and laterite came in yesterday, today I am expecting my co2 regulator and new lighting to come in. After all of this comes in I am going to start ordering plants.

I have put off ordering plants because my firemouths have laid eggs for the 7th time and I would like to give the parents and opportunity to have one last batch before they are re-homed.

After I re-home all my fishes and get my laterite and flourite in the tank and filled with water should I start dosing ferts and co2? Also, how much co2 (as in bubbles/per minute)?

Last night I ordered HEMIANTHUS CALLITRICHOIDES as a carpet and Fissidens fontanus. The plants should ship out monday or tuesday and are on 2 day shipping.

I've got the hemianthus callitrichoides. Nice plant. I put mine in a week and half ago and it's starting to fill out now.

yea it seems to be a pretty carpet plant. i have a question though; they come potted in some cotton like stuff, do i take the plant out of the pot and cotton stuff and put the plant in the flourite or what?

to cover the substrate area you want and providing you have spread it effectively you will almost have a carpet in a month in a high tec set up.

if yo have a look iat my 60l in my sig you can see how i have done, i have just gave mine a trim (height wise) you have to keep it low.

alright, so when I get the plants just take them out of the pots and remove and remvoe the stems then plant it

yes, it will be one big plant, so just pull a stem off and plant it for best results - or you can plant it in small clumps.
