Sometimes stress can do it. If he’s biting it he is bored or the tail is too heavy. I’ve had some before that got it for I reason. Go figure.

Yes, same. My betta had finrot once, and I'm still not quite sure why. My water was fine. I discovered it early though, so he recovered quickly. He has never gotten it since.

I hope I discovered it quickly enough. Why would he even be stressed and have possible finrot? That's shocking to me, really.
