I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Miss Wiggle, Waterdrop and Wilder for their excellent advice and support.

This is a wonderful place and I have learnt so much just reading other peoples experiences and the advice they receive.

little tank space?? ok heres what to do, bring it round my house and treat yourself to a bigger one
they are beautiful fish, but it has to be taken into account that they will live 10+ years,so when you get them theres no going back, i always wanted oscars and to be honest my first were impulse buys, but the best ones ever i have a couple of community tanks, nd kribs etc, but if i had space and cash for more tanks/filters etc i wouldnt even be sitting on this sofa, there would be an oscar tank here instead,!!
i dont much show any interest in my other tanks now, they dont excite me anymore not like the oscars do, they are really like fat labradors and will give back exactly what you put into keeping them ( hence jambo wanting to kill me )
but i am only winding you up, its a big step ( little did i know) one that needs careful thought, they need huge filtration, out of 6 you may find you end up with 1 that you can happily keep,and they are greedy
people think im crazy when i tell them that jambo is not just a fish, but he really isnt hes a part of the family,just like a dog without the walks.
i was supposed to be going a way for a couple of days this weekend and the one thing that stopped me was the fact that he wouldnt have any food for 3 days, as much as i know he would be fine, i just couldnt do it,so i cancelled my trip.

do the small fish first.. save the best till last watever you go with, enjoy it every step of the way.

This is no long fish keeping, that is an OCD. You may want to seek professional help for that and a few other issues I can think of .

whats the matter with a smaller bed?? less making to do! ( gosh now youre giving me ideas ) believe me you wouldnt need a tv with an oscar to watch

the 10 year thing is all that stops me. its the only minus really if you can call it that . tank size is no prob filtration etc too. but lots of other fish i want to keep 1st . oscars will be after those lot unless i win lottery and buy a big ole house lol
