How Many Of You Are Fisher Men/women?

I'm not squeamish about the idea of catching a fish, but the hooks scare me. It might be strange but I don't like being on a beach where there is a row of people casting lines with hooks out and I would go out of my way to avoid them. It amazes me that there aren't more accidents than there seem to be.

But catching blue claws with crab traps is another story. I love doing that and plopping them in a pot of boiling water doesn't bother me a bit. :D

There isnt many accidents because its quite hard to get seriously hurt, the lines arent usually that heavily unless sea fishing and the hooks dont usually penetrate that deep so a light hook that doesnt really do much damage anyway isnt going to easily get too deep into the skin unless it got really yanked straight into your flesh, most of my experiences haven't even been deep enough to draw blood...

Unless it was a freak accident of course and got someone's eye, or a heavy sea fishing rig with bigger weights and bigger hooks...

I've had a few accidents in my time. A few hooks to the leg that needed the emergency room and a crankbait to the back of the head, my buddy pulled it out with pliers.

i love fishing im going night fishing next weekend with my dad if the weather is ok :good:

Oh im not saying they dont happen, just not that often. :p

i think i started fishing around the time i got my fish tank, around 8, my dad used to take me!
Caught perch, rudd and carp in the canals. flat fish, whiting and occasional cod in winter. Favorite was on the lake with eels and pike! Now i mainly fly fish the river for brown and rainbow trout! Very relaxing!

I took up fly fishing this year. I'm by no means any good but I have managed quite a few rainbows and one brown that was 18" and 3lbs.

how big was this did u weight it mine is only 20lbs

Thats my pb - 47lb would you believe have a pb of 47lb twice - 2 different fish from 2 different lakes
Spend an obscene amount of time carp fishing - can't get enough :good:

Cool I thought that it only made sence that fish keepers would also enjoy fishing. Trout are so pretty I wish I could keep them in my home.

There isn't many but a few i've heard of are freak, and also if you used barbed hooks they are really hard to get out :p. I've heard of people getting hooked in the eye, I've heard of people dying after getting snagged and yanking their line causing their weight to shoot out of the water at amazing speeds, this has happend to me before zoomed right past my head. You could hear it >.<

I love fishing personally, nothing better then sitting by a lake on a hot summers day relaxing and catching fish. Although I haven't had the chance this year and doubt I will get to.

I have actually never been fishing before, which is pretty weird since I like 2 blocks from the Hudson River and have a house on a beach in the Hamptons! Kinda pathetic. :p

Buy a snoopy rod and get out there!

Forgot to add to make sure you get the 3 foot long snoopy pole. The 3 footer is a good fight when you get one hooked!
