I started catching fish before I started keeping fish. I would go fishing with my dad when I was little up till I was a teen then I started keeping fish. Every year I go to Montana to visit my inlaw and we fly fish. I'm still learning that I grow up fishing for salt water fish off boats. But anyways.

Any of you keepers go fishing.

I love fishing :good: Notice the ice on the water.....

I love fishing! I've always wanted to catch a fish to keep in my tank. We have some beautiful sunfish here and catching juvenile specimens is so easy a child could do it.

That's a NICE fish! What kind? It looks to be some sort of catfish. It also looks like it weighs a bit aswell.

I went fishing when i was about 8, caught a perch and screamed my head off when it wriggled and mum had to take the hook out and throw it back. Then I went on holiday with my mum when I was in my 20's she wanted to go fishing so we went fishing off some rocks just off the beach. The first fish I caught, I squealed again because it was wriggling and again mum had to take the hook out.

Im far to squeamish for fishing

I'm not squeamish about the idea of catching a fish, but the hooks scare me. It might be strange but I don't like being on a beach where there is a row of people casting lines with hooks out and I would go out of my way to avoid them. It amazes me that there aren't more accidents than there seem to be.

But catching blue claws with crab traps is another story. I love doing that and plopping them in a pot of boiling water doesn't bother me a bit. :D

I started fishing before I learned to walk. Ice fishing is my favorite. Cant beat sitting in a 8X8 box jigging through a 6" hole!

There isnt many accidents because its quite hard to get seriously hurt, the lines arent usually that heavily unless sea fishing and the hooks dont usually penetrate that deep so a light hook that doesnt really do much damage anyway isnt going to easily get too deep into the skin unless it got really yanked straight into your flesh, most of my experiences haven't even been deep enough to draw blood...

Unless it was a freak accident of course and got someone's eye, or a heavy sea fishing rig with bigger weights and bigger hooks...
