Just one really, but in about 1-1 1/2 years time it'll have outgrown it. Goldfish can get to a very large size (hence people sometimes keep them in ponds), so if your heart is set on goldfish, be prepared to buy a bigger tank =)

I agree. I think that's not really a good tank for goldfish long term.

None. All goldfish get way too big for a 2ft long tank. That's 12 gallons for a fish that in some species can reach nearly 2ft.

Though these are not comets they do give you a pretty good indication that goldfish can get bigger than we expect.

Not a comet or goldfish for that matter. But still, it's a big golden fish. Probably a gold fishes cousin or something.

That would be a Koi Carp which is indeed in the same family as the Goldfish ;)

What are the dimensions of the tank?

You want the fish to have enough room to swim up and down and turn around easily :)

Comets are still better suited to ponds than tanks, however big the tank is.

The reccomended minimum is a 75 gallon over filtered for 1 comet goldifsh.

Mate, just get a pond! :)

I'd say a 5ft long, 5ft wide and 3-4ft deep would suffice and leave you room to add a few more but not too many.

Doh! Forgot about depth. 5 foot deep isn't necessary lol. 2+ will do. :#
