Hi - As a newbie I really enjoy looking at the photos posted. It never occurred to me to post a reply because I thought the pictures were there to look at.
It is really interesting to see other people's fish and tanks.

When i see somone who has posted pics of their tank and has got no replys at all while their thread gradually makes its way to the bottom of the page, i usually do a post to say how nice their tank is because i can imagine how disheartened i'd feel if i spent the time of posting pics of my tanks and no one replied...

Well I like looking at other peoples pictures but I rarely post replys about them. Mainly because if a couple of people have already posted saying "nice fish" or whatever I feel a bit silly to post exactly the same thing again. But thinking about it I reckon I would feel a bit disheartened if I put effort into posting pictures and not many people replied even if loads had looked. So from now on I will turn over a new leaf and let people know if I like their pictures!

 Ive posted pictures of fish that most people have never even heard of before let alone seen and yet only had half a dozen or so replies added to the thread, but do i care? Do I heck, its a known fact that 99% of members only care about small and/or pretty fish and in particular Bettas and Cichlids so unless your picture is of one of them then you can pretty well not expect any replies. Personally i rarely bother to take pictures now as i know most people just arent interested.

no ! You really should post pics - especially if you have them anyway. It's a great help and has proved very useful for me I do not have knowledge of.
I don't actually care if people post comments or not, but I think posting pictures are valuable. It shows people about other fish they do not know about - and perhaps they will go away and think about them.
Many pictures I've seen (and not necessarily commented upon) made me think about things and how / if they will fit in my current setup - or if I should keep if for a "if one day wish list".

I can honestly say that my "taste" has changed somewhat by seeing what's out there. If people don't post pics, we'll just all stick with what we know and trust.

you should of made the question "how do you feel when you post a pic or a problem and no one replys"

i have posted some picturs before and havent gotten a reply and the next day it was on page 3 or something :( i was sad cause i worked so hard to earn the money to buy that fish and no body cared!

i have also posed problems before and not once did i get help!

yea, one thing is to have no replies when you post pics to show them to people, but when you are trying to get answers and none replies, that it's in deed a terrible felling  it's even embarassing to post a "bump" post  just to try to make someone notice it again

btw, I will try to post replies in the future when looking at other peoples tanks, I just love to see what other people are doing, specially the DIY projects ^_^

I usually only reply when the pics are especially nice/unusual... or when I'm really bored
I'm also guilty of only looking at photo threads of fish I like, fish I own, or fish I haven't heard of/don't see much :*)

Anyway, when my threads don't get many replies it doesn't bother me at all. I love getting replies, but I'm really just posting the pics to show of my fish... it doesn't matter to me whether or not people feel obliged to stroke my ego :)

I used to post pics, but they always got ignored. So I stopped posting pictures, and I hardly ever visit the aquarium pics section anymore :) I can't get mad at people for not commenting on my pictures, so if they don't care, I don't care, and no more pics from me :D

The only time I would like someone to comment is if I post a pic of my aquarium or my fish etc..

But if I post a pic in Non-Fish Photos then I dont really care about replies, not many people go in that part of the forum anyway :p

I do agree though, a lot of people look at my posts, but not many people reply....makes me wanna cry :-( (kidding of course :p ) But I'm going to admit that I have looked at pictures and never replied, but its mainly because I don't know what to say; or I don't want to spam the board only saying "nice fish" or " :kewlpics: ". If I don't say anything in a post, it does not mean I didn't enjoy looking at the pictures; I actually love to look at others fish and aquariums it's just I don't know what to say, really :dunno:

I view almost all the member's pics threads. That's why I post threads there is so other people can see my pics. :) Some other member's threads I feel like I should reply to but I can't think of anything special to say except "nice fish" or something. I mean, how many things can you say about a picture of a fish/tank? But if I do comment usually I have something specific to say.

thanks for all the replys.
I see that with 49 votes not one person is happy at having little or no replys, maybe we should all take that into account next time we look at pics.

It makes me feel disheartened. I have done all this work on my tank, and spent ages taking the right pic, post it saying how happy i am with the tank. And I'll get tons of views, but no one saying 'hey that looks great' Feedback like that really gets you thinking that you are doing a good job. It's good to get negative feedback too. 'That looks ok, but I'm not sure about that plant' or something like that may help to re-afirm a doubt I may already have.

I feel the same way when I ask a question in any of the forums. It's happened several times where soemthing has happened and I need to figure it out asap. I ask it, explaining every little detail, and within a good half hour I get 10 views, but no one with any advice. Sometimes it's day before anyone gets too it.

I am very greatful for any bit of advice that I get from here.
