Also if you are looking for something a bit different to vals, then have a look at crypt balansae. A really easy plant to grow and looks really nice as well. Keep up the good work Stu, there's nothing like a living piece of art in you living room.

New bulbs T8 bulbs arrived today, 2 with postage costs = less than 1 from the LFS. Happy days (as long as they work out).

Photo period up to 8 hrs from the 5hrs that the T5's were on for.See how we get on.No more melting from the new crypts.Fingers crossed.

I may be wrong Stu lol, but it looks like an anubias flower to me, the stalk looks to long to be a leaf.

actually, looking at it it may be a leaf. or a flower.

New leaf forming on 'Tropica' Crypt, and don't seem to be losing any more leaves to melt.How long do they take to get through the melting stage?The Petchii has hardly been affected.

So, despite there being lots of plants that i haven't managed to kill, and the hours dedicated to perfecting the 'just thrown in' style of scaping, you like ........the gravel

The best thing about it though - free-

On another note, looks like someones suspicions were right.

don't think i'll be going to Chelsea flower show next year with it somehow.
