Hello, My name is Eric i am from Yellowknife Canada and i was cleaning out my room and i found a basic 5 gallon fish tank, so i went and bought some guppies i did not do any sort of cycling, i have had them for about 3 weeks now. i am wondering if i should cycle the tank with guppies or no. What should i do??, take them out of the tank and put them in a fish bowl and do a fishless cycle or just keep them in there??? HELP PLEASE.

I am new in the fish thing and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to get a 20 gallon tank. I mean i just got into the hobby and i was wondering if it would be smart to just see if i can keep these fish alive for about 7 months or for one litter of fry. And if i am sucessful buy another tank??

Thanks for all of the help my friends :D

Hiya, welcome to the forum.

If your tank has been set up for 3 weeks,it is probably half way cycled already,so don't dump it out! Just do partial changes every few days for the next few weeks. Invest in a test kit. When you get a 20 you can use the gravel and filter media from the 5 for an instantly cycled tank.

Welcome, that your Vette?

Have fun, there are great people here.

Go post in Tropical chit chat or beginners. No one will ever notice questions in here ;)

What happens now is you need to quit being so clean :p Not really, but you need to let some bacteria begin to grow. Go read the pinned topics in beginners
