Harrys Juwel Rio 125 Marine Tank

thats got to be some of the coolest stuff ive seen lol very intrested in this thread atm :good:

harry- Get an unused glass tumbler, about 10-12cm tall, and place some raw bacon in the bottom and place it in the tank next to a piece of rock so any crabs can fall in the glass, then you can take them out one by one and place them on a white piece of paper and get a macro shot, if they've got black claws they're probably baddies and will need sumping at your LFS.

The aiptasia will be mauled by some peppermint shrimp, failing that, give them a soldering.

also red eyes can mean bad

also if i were you id kill those aptasia while you can as there horrible when they take over

Correct ID on the Apatasia! :good:

You will have to remove them, either with Lemon Juice or a Soldering Iron (seffie uses this)

And quick, before they take over... Good Luck! :good:

Try using this link http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marine/inverts/cnidaria/anthozoa/aiptasia/aiptasia.htm
Its Excellent! :)

thanks every one how quickly do they grow most of them are so small in my tank you have to take i picture of it to see them.

do you think i should add more live rock? because corals come with some anyway

I would have thought that the amount of live rock you have in there at the moment would be sufficient to support the bioload of a suggested stocking list for a tank your size. You could add more live rock, purely for aesthetic reasons. If that's the only reason, then you could get a 25kg bag of ocean rock from your LFS and add that to the tank.

You can either use this as base rock and stack the live rock on top of it, or mix it in with the live rock as I have done. Its pretty stark white in coloour to begin with but, mine has already greened/browned/redded up a lot, where algae has moved and the snails graze upon it, as well as the hermits. It will also become live in time. Although not as porous live rock, it will still house the bacteria and do the same job.

Well worth considering, as I think your next step before you add any fish, corals or cuc's, will be to aquascape your tank.

i have aquascaped it but it just isnt very good  i will try again but i will have to move some sand before i do anything. also i havnt had any spike in any thing its been 4 days but i havnt done a test today

i killed the biggest aptasia i had with the soldering iron. i hit it once and it whent in but it wasnt big enough to fit itself in so i hit it again. i also aquascaped my tank for the 4th time LoL also if this works i have a video of somthing in the rock and some of my aptasia but one is dead now anyway.
