Yesterday i was so excited as my betta Jazz had made his first ever bubble nest after a week of being in his own tank! i had just changed his water today - noticed he has split his tail about 1/3 of the way down and the ends seem to be stuck together. I got him to flare to check his other fins and they seem fine - he can flare the base of his tail but the ends dont flow.

I have attached a picture.

What should i do........

before (he ends of his tail are ragged due to being fin nipped by my other fish hence why he is on his own)

help :(

all the 0's after the water change and p.h is at 7.2

could it be because i have some spikey plastic plants in there he could have torn it on? do i need to add in any like acquarium salt or bettafix of myxazin or will he be ok with just water changes?

I siphon it out with a small gravel siphon and the gently pour declorinated temp matched water back in with a jug. I left him in as he doesn't like being caught so I took about 70% of the water out. I always pour at the opposite end to him so he doesn't get swirled round.

my guess is the plants, i've had similar before and had problems, with Bettas ideally if your having fake plants you need silk

Ahh I will go and get him some silk or a live plant today then for him and keep up with the water changes!
