guppy fin rot

A salt bath might work but I'm always careful when it concerns a large finned guppy. Too much salt can also have a negative result. Baktopur of Sera and Methylene blue are also an option.

You don't need to @ every single person you know, by the way... I'm sure it probably gets very annoying, especially if the person you're @-ing hasn't already said you can do that freely. People who have answers to your question(s) will naturally come to your thread(s) over time. You just need to be patient. But unfortunately, the people on here aren't all-knowing great gods despite all their knowledge. There may be some things we just don't know.

Fin rot is caused by poor water quality that damages the skin and allows bad bacteria and fungus to enter the damaged tissue.

The easiest way to treat it is by doing huge daily water changes and gravel cleaning the substrate, cleaning the filter if it needs it, making sure there is no ammonia or nitrite in the water, adding salt to the tank.

You also need to remember that Colin_T never looks at his alerts so he never sees tags.

There are several stickies written by Colin_T in the emergencies section. Read through this one to find the info you need.

started spazzming out and then was stilll. suddenly died...

Colin's method says 2 heaped tablespoons (ie 40 g, I just weighed it) in 20 litres, or though livebearers can cope with double that.
20 litres = 5 gallons.

Did you mean to say 4 litres or did you mean 5 gallons?
