Right, started a new project. Basically rehomed my fish that i had in the 4ft tank and am in the process of upgrading my smaller tanks to the next size up. So, the fish from Vicenza Revisited will be moved into here over the weekend (probably tomorrow) and i need to decide what other plants to go for. Gone for a heavy use of Crypts and Vallis upto yet, but thats about it. Looks ok, just needs a few tweaks and additions. Very cloudy at the minute as some of you will have seen through Facebook, so will get some better pics tomorrow when settled. May give the filter floss a quick rinse in the morning too. Will also be adding my 305 to this tank aswell as the ex1200.

Wanting a carpet of some sort, just need to decide what to use. Moss again? Was hoping for Glosso but the lights won't keep it happy so thats now out.

Also replaced the DIY wallpaper background for just a plain black one. Looks better from what i can see of it

May alter the hard scape slightly over the next week or two also.

Stocking will be

1 Thorichthys Ellioti
10 Harlequin Rasbora's
10 Glowlight Tetra's
4 BN's
3 Bronze Corydoras (soon to be 12 courtesy of Tizer)
2 or 3 Apple Snails.

Any thoughts on stocking?

Cheers, David.

four foot? Seems a little light on stock to me, or are you focusing more on the plants/scape for this one?

Exactly. These are currently in a 180 litre tank, so upping to 260-270 gives a little more scope for fish. Any ideas ZZ?

And yes, it is focused on the plants, but the fish also. Maybe some Neons...

Lol... never mind that, give me some advice!!!!!!!!! :D

why not go for a school of something a little different?? Make it a really large school as well.

Columbian tetras?

Crying out for a cichlid/s of some description, unless you want the focus on the Thorichthys Ellioti? I'll let you pick one/some if not....you've got far more experience/knowledge!

Neons? I can't recommend. I'm really not happy with my 20. Don't really sit together nicely and seem to be 'messy' in my tank. I'd go with more harlequins. I love the way they ALWAYS swim together (need to up mine when the wife isn't looking).

hmmmmm....surface dwellers? The top of the tank is going to be quite quiet. If staying away from bigger fish and going with a busy community, some hatchets?

Ha, not just me then. (nice use of the double post...again

Now: enough with the talk of plants and fish. What gravel are you going to use?

ps big school of these Nematobrycon amphiloxus

Ian, i have had CRFT's before, very nice, but a little feisty. Was also considering Buenos Aires Tetra's? :look:

Would like a group of wild marked Angels, (sorry ZZ, I don't mean to copy you  ) but i doubt my Ellioti would accept them, or any other Cichlid for that matter. As much as he is a pain, he is very well behaved with other fish so can't complain too much i guess.

Maybe upping the numbers of the Harlequins and Glowlights will be the best option. So what then, maybe another 5 or 6 of each?

Feeling the need for some blue though hence the question about Neons. But fancy yellow aswell so may just bang 4 Platy's in. :S

Stu, keeping the Unipac Limpopo as i'm waaaaaaay too tight to buy some new! :D

So, 10 glowlights is actually 7. :( all 10 rasbora's are accounted for though. There is 3 bristlenoses.

was this not the tank where you were thinking of a group of 40ish tetra/rasborra?

just for you Minnnt. Notice how you can barely see the neons! Bigger group then 20 if you want to make them visible I reckon...

Good point ZZ, I see what you mean. Going to keep thinking about the stocking. Does look a bit sparse. :/

Also still thinking about a carpet of some sort...

Great tank btw, thanks for sharing! :)

Here are a couple of pics. Excuse the floating mass of Vallis, it's still to be planted, but i have had enough for today.

After looking at it for a day i may do something different with it, just need to decide what. I like it, but unsure if i like it enough to stay how it is. :/

If anyone has any suggestions or fancies coming around and doing it for me then i am happy to listen. :D
