Ghosts

No, it was not a nice ghost. It was a poltergeist. We could feel the evilness in the house almost immediately after moving in. I got really sick and hospitalized there, sick for several months. The husband of the people we sold it to died and then later down the road the ladies new boyfriend died in the master bedroom. Poltergeist finally got what it wanted. We woke up to our headboard slamming against the wall, our entire closet rod post being lifted and thrown to the ground with all clothes on it (didn’t break), lights turned off after we turned them on, and our little (3 years old) told us a mean woman scared her in her bedroom. Keys were moved to other locations, felt someone breathing on us while sleeping, attic door would open and slam shut. We lived there 3 years to the day.
See I can’t do that, I would be screaming my head off and calling a priest??
But that’s scary seeing as your kid said there was a old woman scaring her!? That’s bad juju right there.

The headboard started slamming against the wall after my sister and brother-in-law anointed the doors and windows with holy oil. They didn’t even tell us they did it until we told them about the headboard. They confesssd then and it was the same night the headboard started. We had our next home blessed by our parish priest. Funny, we lived in a beautiful 120 year old Victorian home that you would expect to be haunted. I was disappointed that we never had paranormal activity in that house. Lol!

Born and raised in Texas. Never left. In Houston. I saw a ghost one other time. It drifted through my bathroom. In olden clothes. Only once in that house. I think we crossed realms or something. I may be sensitive to them. My grandmother was. Yes, I’m crazy but not in that sense. lol! :)

I've never believed in stuff like this, but in the short time I've known you, I feel I can trust you...scary stuff!
I DO know in Galveston, there's a few spots that have had reported sightings, and strange things happening...

I’m intrigued after going through these experiences but have never seen anything else. The bathroom thing just startled me but the poltergeist starting making me mad. I finally yelled at it one day and said, “Look, this may have been your place once but it’s mine now. If you want to continue living here then you better quit moving and breaking my stuff. I mean it, I’ve had it!” Things either quieted down a bit after that or I just chose to ignore it. The first night that we moved to our new house from that one, I was sitting in the dark in the den. My husband walked in and said, “There’s nothing here, is it? I can feel the peace in this house.” I smiled at him. That was the first time we admitted to each other that there really was something in the other house. We had always made excuses. We allowed the purchasers of the haunted house to pay us a portion in a lien. When the lady sold the house, the realtor brought her over to pay the loan off. Remember, her husband and boyfriend had died while living there. The boyfriend died in the bedroom. The poor lady looked at us and said, “I just have to get out of that house because it haunts me.” I asked her if the memories haunted her or the house. She said, “Oh no, it’s the house. It’s haunted. “. I said, “We thought so too.” We all stood there in shock. The realtor cupped her ears and said, “I don’t want to hear this, I don’t want to hear it!” True story.

The realtors reaction is funny

Wowsers.....you should write a book

Wow, Deanasue, that's harrowing.

Here's the closest thing I have to a ghost story. So, when I was in Scotland, I stayed in a hotel that had been converted from an old (really old, by USA standards) theater. Sometime in the middle of the night, I gradually became aware of a metallic, "Click, click....click, click.....click, click...." sound. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, I got a huge adrenaline rush (not the good kind) and came awake with all the hair on my arms and neck standing up. I opened my eyes and saw what looked like a shadow move across the ceiling, except the room was dark and the shadow was light, if that makes any sense (if it does, please explain, as it still doesn't make any sense to me). I jumped out of bed and looked to see if someone was picking my lock. The hall was lit up and there was no one there. I stepped across to the window; no lights, vehicles, or humans in the alley. So I went back to bed and went to sleep. I realized later that the clicking sound had stopped the moment I got out of bed and never came back, so I don't think it was some sort of pipe noise or electrical malfunction.

I'm sure there's a good explanation for that one, but to this day I don't know what it might be.

I once thought I heard my dead grandmother whispering to me when I was in bed, but I don't know if it was real or just my imagination. I don't really believe in ghosts.

same here, whenever something weird happens i spend 1-2 hours trying to debunk it. and if I can’t debunk it i say it was just a weird coincidence of things.?

Gonna maybe turns some heads here, but I'm Christian and believe in the supernatural. But in a more simplistic fashion if that makes sense.

Ghosts, alien abductions, general "spirit world" phenomenon? Demons. All of it (at least the genuinely unexplainable stuff as there's endless hoaxes for attention and tourism's sake) is just demons. Weird happenings manifest themselves in a host of different ways, but the culprits are always the same. Human souls don't get lost or stay tied to some weird purgatory plain of existence out of revenge or whatever, they go "up or down" until the trumpets sound and that's that.

And take it for what you will, but I've felt their presence before. For a brief amount of time I worked at a distribution warehouse, and during one shift I found myself several floors up on the packaging belts all alone in the middle of the night. I had lights but just beyond my station it was a pure black void. And I could sense that within that darkness there was an intensely evil presence, I swore at times I'd even see the horde of demons staring at me, every bit as twisted and unrecognizable creatures as tales say.

In fact I quit not long after because I genuinely believe I was almost killed. Was driving home at night one time and I nearly careened off the road as if I couldn't control my actions. I kid you not, it felt like something else was trying to get me to turn the wheel.

You're free to scoff and say I'm crazy, but even as someone who's quite loose in their beliefs these days, I stand by my word that demons are not only real, they have a bigger hand in the affairs of men than we'd like to think.

I don't think that's any crazier than anything the rest of us have said. o_O
