Fresh-Water Newbie

I agree that it has been discussed quite a bit. I actually like my Petsmart. I had a great hour long conversation with the fish manager, he too knows his stuff. I haven't gotten any fish from there yet, but I do go there for all my supplies.


King, the comment was more to TOS's comment about these stores. I've also been to the independent LFS around me and they just scare me. I drove two hours one way to get my newest additions a few weeks back.

Nah, I'd wait until your next water change. Just let things sit for a bit and see what happens. But I'd test the water again in the morning.

i will do that. just thought of it, could they not be eating enough? i cut back when my water was screwed but still fed them like 4x a week..

That wouldn't kill them. They can honestly go for a week or two without food.

Not to mention, as well as not harming them by feeding them less, you introduce less wasted food in the water (breaks down into ammonia) and the fish produce less pee and poop (also ammonia sources).

Which is why the feedings were recommended to be cut in the first place.

yes it was to cut waste, i just wanted to make sure. it was so weird. that angel is still "hanging on" but i dont think its gonna make it. so far everything else is alright i guess.

it has some spots on its side, but i dont know that it didnt always. its hanging out by that same rock that the other one died by. they were a pair and one died, who knows maybe they have a "link" and its sad, i figure it'll be dead soon. i HATE it, and theres NOTHING i can do about it..... i know they are FISH but i still feel really bad about this whole situation
