I just spent the last hour reading this thread, and I have to say your tank is AWESOME. I'm a newbie to SW, so this thread has helped me a lot, especially because I want a nano. I know they're tougher and only for experts. But, I wanna become an expert, and I figure firsthand experience is the best way to get there. I love your clownfish, especially. He's prettyful . Good job!

Well I haven't been on here for awhile, so just a little update. Well clown is doing good, sixline is doing good, and xenia is doing good. I saw a starfish on my glass the other day. I'll post some pics later, but anyways on to the question:
1) My ocellaris I think wants another buddy besides the sixline, so I went to the store today and saw a SMALL percula. Would it be too much for 2 clowns and 1 sixline in my 10?
2) Is it okay to have 2 different types of clowns in one tank, cause I saw a pair but it was an ocellaris and a perc.

IMO its too small for what you already have. If you wanted a second clown, ditch the Sixline, which needs more room anyway. Im not 100% on clown sp. conpatability, so let someone else comment on that issue.

Thanks Mr.Miagi, any other opinions on the different clowns being together. Some guy at my lfs said as soon as I drop the new clown in there they will fight, but when I got the sixline, the clown didn't even nip at him or anything. They became really good friends, but I think the clown wants a best friend that will be by his side most of the time. Its fun to watch the sixline and him swim together.

probably the reason the clown didnt fight with the 6 line was because that 6 lines have that beak thing that can cause a bit of damage as opposed to a clownfish bighting or whatever

As long as you've got sufficient lighting (T5 or PC) then sure.

Hey everyone I went ahead and bought a small perc clown. I am going to take Mr.Miagi's advice and get half credit for the sixline at my LFS. Right now my perc is floating in the bag in the tank, acclimating. The perc and the ocellaris seem as if they are fighting through the bag, it seems as if they are getting ready to fight when I drop the perc in. Is this normal Help!

Cool! Congrats! The fighting you might have seen was just them establishing whos boss ie whos going to be female
