tough to think of a question--here goes
 
using an api test kit:
 
to the glass tube, add the following:
10 drops of ph test solution
10 drops of ph high range test solution
10 drops of nitrite test solution
10 drops of bottle one of ammonia  test solution
 
shake the test tube
 
when you hold the tube up to the  light,  what color is the solution?
 
now add ten drops of bottle two of ammonia test solution.
 
shake the test tube
 
Now again hold it up to the light and tell me what color you see

Very dark purple.
Then it got lighter.

wrong---tilt the bottle a bit to get thinner residue on the upper part of the tube--then you should see the color clearly
