Female Tank Crisis - Fungus Kills In 2 Days

I would do salt baths on the fish, plus salt in there bowls.

Do the bleach sterilization (I'm sorry - I keep calling it 2 different things when they're 1 in the same - sterilization and sanitzing) I described in the long post above. Get that tank sterilized, and then get them on both meds.
sterilizing as you said above was already done and did nothing. if i do it again. all it will do is stress the fish more. the numbers keep changing, they've been changed several times so the stress level is already high. the columnaris page does say stress plays a factor.

there is NO way i am going to bleach and hope i get everything out and then put them right back in again. if i goof, miss a spot, and even if i rinse it for an hour they could be dead. i just don't feel that bleaching can be done then put them in it right away because it is so deadly. i'm looking for another tank so bleaching can be done properly.
if maracyn 2 "might" work then why wouldn't i put in all other kinds of meds just in case? sorry, but that just sounds senseless. i'm really looking for someone like wilder who has actually dealt with this problem.

i will try the aquarium salt baths wilder and am looking up information about Potassium Permanganate that's suggested on that page. thank you!

I have dealt with the problem - Jack (my red betta) had it, or something very similar to it. I treated him successfully with both meds.

The bleaching of a glass tank is perfectly safe, if done correctly - the tank that Jasper and Charlie are both in right now were done that way and went into them less than 30 minutes after they were rinsed out. Several people on this forum have bleached their tanks this way. I was nervous about it the first time I tried it also, but it works. If you rinse them properly you have nothing to worry about.

But, if you choose to wait til someone else gives you some advice, I respect that.
Good luck with your girls.

Flexibacter - that is exactly what it looks like. and the descriptions seem to make sense and match pretty well - will search, buy and try meds they suggest including salt baths. THANK YOU!

not arguing but am disagreeing betta momma. i have had and seen bleach deaths, it's even less pretty than what they're going through now, will try the other options above. thanks for your help too.

i usualy either bleach after a dead fish or pitch the tank simple as that

:D me too just ran out of places to put the fish right this moment, the first little tank was tossed because it was acrylic (sp) and not in good shape anyway it just worked for the moment. the second small one is getting bleached as will the others.
