I am going to give you my opinion.
If you are sure that your father won't do the surgery to fix the leg and amputation is out of the question as well....then I would start looking at other options.
I do not agree with crating and or keeping her tied to a leash for a long period of time. That isn't fair for the dog...especially if she is in pain.
I'm very sorry that you and your dog are going though this right now....but you have to put her best interests ahead of anything else.
