why dont the board allow ebay links? espically if its fish related that could bring a bargain to other members. we all want the most in price when we sell our items but we still maybe offering a good deal so why cant ebay links be posted?

Maybe one of the mods or admin will correct me here, but i assume it is an attempt to protect the forum from being used for commercial advertising.

Its spam i believe. Its more self gain then offering deals to anyone else. Why go through a 3rd party when you can sell your stuff here and without listing fees. Thats my take on it anyways.

Soaup is correct. In the past we have had a lot of people sign up just to promote their ebay links, the spam got quite tiresome!

people would probobaly just post spam to get to a 100 posts. You can easily search through members pics and say 'cool tank' on everyone, wouldnt take that long!

aye, i think it's because some people equate high post count with good knowedgable answers.

so if all you've done is signed on to the site and said 'nice pics' on a thousand threads in the photo section your user id then doesn't show you as an experienced member.

So it's kind of trying in a small way to make it so only your meaningful posts helping people out with stuff count towards your post count.
