Do You Eat Your Pet Fish When They Die?

for those thinking that others in the other parts of the world are weird for eating certain fish, whats so wrong with it? Its just their culture. In Britain, horse is now rarely heard of (unless a hot dog or dog food) and we dont make much comment on dog eating in China. Although we do often take the mick of the french and their snail eating.

Its all about culture as to what you find an acceptable food source and you should be more open and you should be more open and accepting of others culture.

Hell, we get branded all sorts for eating cow and pig thathasnt been sanctified, surely we are therefore disgusting too?

No though none of my fish are big enough to eat anyways, their food specifically states not for fish meant for human consumption. In other words, probably not a good idea to eat your pet fish. :)

nonsense, nothing is ever too small, cook em up, little bit of vinegar, and stick em on a pizza.

hey presto freshwater anchovies.

I would consider stuffing one of my pet fish though if it was massive enough.

this is just the same as asking hey would you eat your pet dog if it died, or your horse......

Hot Dogs?

This thread is great!

Surely anyone who likes there pets though isnt going to eat them when they die. If you get emotionly involved with something your not going to eat it.

Think my budgies are safe. I aint eating them and Ozzy Ozborne is in America.

I like fish, and I love sushi, but I don't eat my fish... even if they werent really tiny, I'd still feel wierd about it. And I don't think I could eat a pleco, either 0.o

Good lord this is an odd thread.
No, that'd be like asking if I'd eat my own children or parents if they died. I simply couldn't do it. Even in a survival situation I couldn't kill another living thing. No, I wouldn't last very long.
On the other hand I'd happily roast a dead person for the sake of survival (assuming they weren't related). I guess that makes me slightly....wierd. :look:
Hugs,
P.

Has anyone ever eaten sprats or pilchards?? Be the same as eating, say, a silver shark or similar.

All the fish we keep will be eaten by somebody somewhere in this wide world.
I've never eaten them myself but if you've been on exotic holidays chances are that you have.

Do eat fresh cod, etc that have caught myself & wacked with a rubber mallet :grr:

Plus think of all the chemicals that go through your fish

Your such a weirdo durbkat. . Of course I eat my fish, DUH! They get really tastey especially if they have fin rot. . JK, what do you think of us durbkat? Do you think were aliens? . Well you dont have to answer that question for security reasons.

Arrowhead there
was no need to call him a weirdo, maybe a strange question, but there is no need for name calling, i think you should apologise.

And now, we'll show you how to liven up that boring old pizza using the festive colors of neons and rummynose!

Plus, don't miss our arrowana stuffed with cheese and oscar cubes, and chef Ninja shows us how blood worms, brine shrimp and tubifix worms can be used on anything from salads to exotic ice cream toppings!

Does anyone know how to fillet a tetra???

With the fish I have, even if I at them all, I'd still be very hungry. I doubt there's much meat on a tetra, siamese algae eater, cory, betta or angelfish (3"). I do have shrimp though!! Hmm, maybe with come cocktail sauce.

In short, no, I wouldn't ever eat my fish.
