Demm's 55g

funny you shoudl ask chris, i was JUST about ot post picsture of it lol.

he's doing excellent. not touching any of the corals at all. he whiped out my population of feather calurpa that was surrounding some pallys. he also wiped out those wine looking things that were growing around my green zoas. the pallys and the zoas are perfectly fine, and were left untouched. hes not even at all shy anymore. i feed him some dried seaweed daily, and he also eats emerald entree with the other fish. when i put the seaweed in on the clip, he swims right up next to my hand and starts eating before i even get a chance to clip it, yikes! lol but it's nice about it, as long as i'm slow and dont make sudden movements it doesnt care i'm there.

here are some pictures i took of it just now, it's sleeping and i like how it flares it's spines out while it's sleeping so i thought i'd share lol.

Sounds good, I got one myself a few days ago...promise I'm not trying to copy you :D I went after him for their immune system. Mine does the same only Ive been feeding him butter lettuce rather than nori...makes me super nervous when Im working in the tank. Mine doesnt lose his color like that when he sleeps though...hope yours is ok?

heres some more pics of the red coral thing. still night time but it opened a bit, so i took some pics. i guess it opens inward instead of polyps coming out? i dunno.

BTW that thing under it is just a yellow polyp that has decided to spread all over the place lol maybe those holes int he red polyp are trying to kill that yellow polyp since the holes are aaround where the yellow polyp is at? lol i dunno

yea they usually loose their color when they sleep. they also loose their color when they get really scared as well from what i know.

my blenny does the same thing. he turns like solid which with black patches.

during the day the foxface is a brilliant yellow all over

Yeah I knew they losed the color when frightened...he didnt enjoy his ride from the LFS to here much but gained his color back after a few hours

yep mine lost its color coming home as well.

glad your calcium levels are coming down heh, running a bit high. Do you know anything about foxface venom? Is it just an irritant or is it actually detrimental to flesh and nerves?

i've heard that it was just like a very painful bee sting. other then that i dont know much of it, or how to combat spreading or anthing like that.

dont tell me you got stung?

Hah no but my tank is getting to be sort of a dangerous place with my condylactis getting bigger and bigger everyday and now this little guy flying all around flashing his spines at me :p It's kind of funny to watch as when the dog wanders past the tank the fish will rush to the front and start flashing his spines, same goes for my girlfriend :)

Ok here are some pictures of the corals opened up a bit.

Im really jealous of your xenia, I'm finding it so hard to get a frag :p Also I dunno why but I really like sarcophyton frags hah, I bet the polyps on yours have opened up even more since that pic was taken...I dont really like the way they look when theyre larger but the frags look really cool to me. I have a frag that's getting pretty large but it started off that size, probably one of my favorite corals in the tank.

yea the toadstool frag looks pretty cool to me, i've always wanted one of those, i always see pictures of peoples tank with one big huge one in the middle.

right now the ones that i really want is a hammer coral, and a kenya tree. for some reason i just cannot find any, i dunno why.

i found a really nice big hammer at a lfs couple weeks ago for about 45, i hesitated and it was gone jus tlike that and havent seen one since :(

the cabbage leather better do something soon lol. i dont quite like it very much. i was hoping it would have polyp thingies like the toadstool does

just checked the toadstool, still looks the same lol.

heres a couple pics i took just randomly.

little baby xenia. and actually directly behind this little batch is some even smaller. they are like 1/4 the size of this one. this one is about 1/4in max lol

Great shots man, I tried getting a pic of my lo earlier but it blurs out too bad :/ My camera just bites it for fish shots. Still jealous of that xenia. What is that coral right in front of the lo's face in the second pic?
