Dawn On The Reef

I inserted a new frag today its an SPS type namely Montipora digitata (orange). It seems to be doing well with all its polyps on show. Started to culture Marine Rotifers for a bit of interest to go alongside the brineshrimp. Also I bought some Liposome Spray (New Era) for to enhance the vitamin content in frozen food, trialing it at the moment and I will share the verdict after a short while. Going on the local reef club meet tomorrow, to an aquatic shop of all places. Repeat after me.... I must keep my wallet in my pocket.

Did you sort your micro bubble issue out bigc? im deffinatly not using my tmc bubble trap now so you are welcome to have it if you want it

Ah well Sef, you seem to be under the impression that my good lady wife is rather inept at stopping runaway trains, perhaps she does posess such qualities....but....Being an employee of M&S and given the seasonal time of year, Im afaid she has to attend her work, how sad she wont be able to tag a long to what will be a truely fantabulous testosterone ridden day, especially afterwards watching the footie in a local drinking establishment. Heat packs and poly box are already packed :p

On a calmer note!
Yeah Ben , all sorted but I will be upgrading to the larger brother around the new year, Need to look up the price and dimensions first, I would need to hang on to the sump. So I'll have the micro bubble inhibitor, thats if your really not gonna use it yoursef at some point. I'll PM you later with the addie.

Ok mate no worries. Ill have a measure up of my skimmer soon aswel, cant do it now cos im going out in a bit and il make a mess  . Think i paid £80 new but ive seen them got for £40 on the 'other' site.
Reviews i have read also suggest that they are best used close to the tank size they are meant for to get the best, so you may be best sticking with the 120

Lol, i was just going to post what did you buy.
Cant do anything in this hobby without spending money. Even if i leave my card at home when i go to the LFS. I end up with post-it notes scattered round the shop with my name on :X

Well it was a long day yesterday and to top it off I got stuck in motorway traffic for two hours on the way home, a journey which would normally take 20mins.
The Reef Club met in Belfast this time (we only have 2 large LFS over here) and the old grey mist decended over me once again as I started to make purchases. So OK here we go. I bought 4 Trocus snails to begin with and some more DT's Live Photoplankton, some Cyclopeeze, some airline, some silicone, some gang valves and some Rotifers, which I intend to cultivate. Below are the Livestock pics along with a few random shots of how things stand at present. Hope you like them.

A little Royal Gramma (Gramma loreto) Thought I'd lost him due to the traffic situation on the way home.

Seems pretty fine now and he's feeding ok, but still a little timid.

A little Turbinaria sp. that caught my eye. Nice shapes, a bit different

A Montipora digitata frag, brought in from the mainland last week.

Long time since I popped in to say hi. Sorry to read about the Shrimp, that stinks. They can be a little destructive when making their burrow .

And NICE elegance coral! It's the same color pattern as mine. Looks identical. I'm pretty sure you didn't come an ocean away to steal mine though

Thanks Guys.....
what did the wife say?
Oh she loves everything about the tank, but dosen't understand why I have to keep messin with it everyday, and even moreso she hasn't got a clue what the cost of the whole project is to date. The daughters boyfriend must think I'm stark raving bonkers though, everytime he comes round I have to wave at him with one dry hand whilst stooped over with the other hand in the tank. I think he's gettin used to it by now. LOL

He's getting a wee bit more adventurious now.

Lol it seems to be a rule that no matter which girl you go out with...all the parents are nuts. Wish my gf's parents had a tank as nice as yours though
