Dawn On The Reef

Was it a planned purchase or something you stumbled upon?
I'd been wanting one for a while, I needed a small one though. Had some offers of large specimens but tank size wouldn't allow. Got a tip off, from a local reef club member that the LFS had two small ones in so off I sped down the motorway. £25 later it was mine.

And btw BigC, thought i'd let you know that im getting a RBTA tomorow...maybe Wednesday Jealous?
Not at all, go for it mate. Our LFS had a small one in,today lovely colour, I was nearly tempted. Lets know how you get on.

 i dont know what your talking about...
but i love a good read through a journal, if the other half ever lets you have a bigger tank i bet it would look awesome.

Lovely sun coral  you are going to be spending even more time with your hands in the salty stuff spot feeding that beauty :good:

Yeah I know, but I just couldn't resist it Sef. I need/want a Colt or Kenya Tree for that side of the tank as I've moved the Sun Coral to a more central position.
I'll put some more pics up shortly.

Just a few words on how I got my newly aquired Sun Coral to feed.
First of all to anyone who's thinking of aquiring one of these, I would like to say they are bloomin hard work.
I have managed to tease mine out by using a syringe with a length of airline attached and squirting some diluted DT’s Live Marine Phytoplankton over the coral. I placed a frozen cube of krill in a small tub and covered it with tank water then I added 5ml of the above phytoplankton. This juice works wonders to get the thing out to play. I then spot fed the coral in the normal way with newly hatched BBS and frozen Mysis.
Pics to follow

Looks great :good:

I would love to get one of these but I'm often away for work at the moment and dont trust someone else to feed it for me. I agree with Ben though, your running out of space and that would all look so much better in a bigger tank :p

OK biggy... It's on it's way.... My P.O. on this side says it'll be (approx) 21 days..... (I don't believe 'em, but let me know.

I assume you've not received it yet, so my prediction was correct....... It is already 26 days since posting... Let me know when you receive. (or if you have already, I'll appologise to the local P'O')

Nope not a dickie bird as yet Ludwig, It shouldnt be long though, I'll let you know as soon as it arrives.
