I am doing a project and I must conduct and opinion poll about current events. The guidelines state that I must survey at least 25 people on their opinion on what is the most important current event nationally and internationally as of this posting. "Current events" means any significant event within the past 6 months. I must survey a community and I thought to myself, why not this one?

So I ask, what do YOU think is the most important event within the past 6 months? I also ask you explain why you believe this event is important, and I must record a quote from you stating why you selected this event, which I hope will be given to me in your response via a post on this topic. I will compile the results into a graph or chart. Your responses will not be disclosed to the public other than this topic. Thanks for your help,

Being a worldwide forum, its going to be difficult for people to choose one particular current topic, also media even in free countries is very restrictive and people only see/ read / hear about what the media and governments want the public to see.

For instance right now in Australia we are being bombarded by the media about the search for Flight MH370 and all the theories related to that disappearance. Closely followed by the Oscar Pistorius case and all its twists and turns. In reality as terrible as these two things are they have no real relevance to my life. However in local news to me which does impact me to some degree is the search for two escaped prisoners one a convicted killer from a local jail. And the local news which is highly important to all the people in Central Queensland and possibly all of Queensland even the rest of Australia depending on where these prisoners manage to get too, is brushed aside and given only limited sound bites by the media that should be reporting for the people not ratings.

Geoengineering is pretty important to me. The rapid expansion of the police state is also very important. But since every breath we take we are breathing in poison, everything else it mute..

Dementia anyone??? Autism anyone, anyone???

I was thinking this too at first. Also the Russia Ukraine is a big deal.

But i'm sure that the conflict has been resolved after a meeting?

I was also thinking Russia-Ukraine... as much the events between them as the reactions of other countries who are refusing to stand up for the little guy.  Stopping (sanctioning) a few rich people is nothing in the big scheme of things.
