Crazy Piranha Fury guys...

there like that there, they are a bunch of morons. They once put a video on there of like 8 P's attacking a large Oscar they threw in now that was bad, i feel like buy a peacock bass cichlid and chucking it in the P tank to show him a lesson

Whats the difference between using a large goldfish or a small one then?

I dont agree with the use of any feeders unless absolutely nessesary but it strikes me as strange that two people who see nothing wrong with feeder fish get all upset when someone uses a larger fish as a feeder.

No no. You see, its the wild ranting about the killing of the fish, and how glorious it's half eaten, organs spilling out, body. Size of the feeder? Had nothing to do with that. I dont mine feeders, but is it necessary to post the pics of the ripped apart body then proclaim that you're fish is the king?

I see nothing wrong with that. Its just showing what the fish is capable of and what it does in the wild.

Sometimes i think some of you guys belong to PETA

No Vips fish do it to themselves so he doesnt need to waste money on goldfish :p

I dont belong to peta and i also dont parade my fish ripping apart a good goldfish part by part.
Checkmate. So why is it illegal to show dead American soldiers? That's what happens in the wild. They die (for thier country). Would you like to see that paraded across our t.v's?

Dont listen to me, its 6am and I stayed up all night.

It may limit my choices in fishkeeping but I will never keep a fish that for its survival requires me to feed live fish....all fish....feeders included deserve to be looked after just as the biggest nastiest fish out there.....

I couldn't look at all those pictures....the first part of it was enough....

No DD predators dont fight and rip each other up, there is a huge difference between a predatory fish and a aggressive fish.

Generally a predatory fish will be laid back and non aggressive, after all there is no point in showing off and attacking everything in your path if its going to scare away all your food is there? A predatory fish will quite happily swim about with others until its hungry and them bam! The mouth opens the prey is swallowed and the predator goes back to being peaceful.
The only aggressive fish i own is a jardini arowana which since being moved around and losing its spot as the dominant fish in the tank has become a lot more placid, i havent seen a torn fin or scratch/missing scale on any of my fish for months.

I could've smacked you for showing me that on MSN.

Sooo not the thing I needed to see at 5:30am. Gross.

I could barely stand feeding guppy fry to my bettas, I couldn't imagine watching a goldfish being torn apart like that.

Nope, apart from the odd bit of shoving and grunting at each other when they all try to fit under the same piece of bogwood at water change time all my cats get along peacefully.
However this is not the rule for all catfish, the majority of my cats are from the Pimelodidae family which are not known to be aggressive but some catfish, particually those from the Bagridae and Siluridae families, are truely evil terrors that should never be kept with any other living creature.

I dont have room for aggressive fish as the value of my stock is just too high to risk any damage being done, at the first sign of a new fish showing aggression it is netted bagged and heading for the LFS without a second chance.

aqhh okay, thanks for clearing that up CFC
