Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

@LostBear what do you think of this lockdown that is going on?
It should have started before Christmas. It CERTAINLY should have started before Monday - sending those children back to school, where they will pick up infection and take it back to vulnerable family members was just unspeakable.

The response to the pandemic should have been an all-party one, putting political agendas aside and as soon as they realised what was going on - in November 2019, I think it was. But they were so laissez-faire about things and so keen to make money that they allowed it to get a solid hold.

Johnson wants to be seen as an affable, jolly, good-natured chap in the mould of Churchill (ha, ha) - he doesn't want to do anything unpopular. A recent newspaper article in the Guardian pointed out that every time he speaks, Johnson always reminds us who the real victim is in all this- HIM! He's wallowing in self-pity and won't listen to sensible advice, because it will either impact on the economy, or his "popularity" (that ship has long sailed) or just because he won't bring himself to agree with Starmer under any circumstances.

He continues to send mixed messages.

We needed the lockdown, but how much good it will do now, when hospitals are already overwhelmed in some areas, and NHS staff are dropping like flies, I don't know.

Key workers should have been the first to receive the vaccine - not only are they on the front line, more likely to be infected, but they are vectors - because they have contact with so many other people, they are not only at more risk to catch it, but also to pass it on - BUT the vaccine should be administered in the way the developers stipulate. I hope that after this is over, there is a class action suit against members of the cabinet PERSONALLY for interfering with this. They have no knowledge of medicine, virology - anything - but they feel they can stick an oar in here! Pfft! (I'm making a rude noise there)

I've just noticed how long my post is - so I have cut out a lot (mainly my considered opinion on Johnson and his cronies).

If you managed to read to the end, you probably qualify for a Duke of Edinburgh Award or something.

I think they will. It's been all over the news and the police minister is furious about it so hopefully they will throw the book at her and lock her up for a bit. Maybe till after covid ends.
She deserves that and more - if they can prove she has infected someone else, particularly if she could have been responsible for a death, or long-term disability, then she should be charged with assault/ manslaughter.

I just don't know what goes through some people's minds, I really don't!

To be honest I wouldn't mind reading a full lecture on Boris. Don't do that though as it is a waste of time.

That's what happens when you trust people with funny hair. I mean look at the US, their leader had funny hair too and he was whackier than daffy duck.
Johnson's funny hair is a deliberate artifice so people will look at him and say "Gosh! Isn't he a dear! Such a card!" I think the reason he is so late for his announcements is that he is spending too much time in front of the mirror trying to look like "Just William" (a storybook schoolboy from decades ago) - always up to mischief but with a heart of gold.

I don't believe that someone with his private income and a PMs salary can't afford a proper haircut.

Well here we go again with this lockdown & i've been in it since it started last year..i could ??? my bl**dy eyes out.

Couldn't we all. It's the communities fault though in my opinion. I feel like people are like "oh forget this, theres a vaccine we'll be fine"; but what they don't realize is that they are spreading it to people around them. Mankind is so self seclusional sometimes.

I would use stronger language but I won't because this is a family friendly forum.

I know they're spreading it by me still mixing hardly any masks warn and i for one won't have this injection, it's not been said what it contains and your supposed to have two, the first injects the cell for covid and the second one triggers it in the system..the goverment are hiding a lot in my opinion and the public will be used as guinea pigs.

I mean at my dads we wear masks on our walks and in the house which sucks but if he gets it again he's got a high risk of being seriously ill or even passing.

Your doing the right thing and some of the symptoms it can give off, i've had naturally with my autoimmune diseases and they're not pleasant.
We just had my husband son and his family last year as a family bubble but that was outside and with distance but come christmas onwards we've told the family we don't want nobody here and they understand regarding my health.

My mum has a bubble with her parents and that's the only bubble we have.

Same here - and I was talking to a lady I met dog-walking yesterday. We had a socially-distanced whinge and she said it was all she could do not to just sit and sob.

I knew just what she meant.

I will admit it gets you down and the only places i used to go when things was ok was aquarium centres and a main store that sells things for your home just once a week. The visits i'm doing is just the doctors and hospitals and the nurses i've spoke with don't feel safe plus they're not being tested.
I couldn't believe what i heard just before christmas off the nurse who gives me a jab that she was bad in march last year with covid, so i soon looked at my calendar when i got home, she treated me then.?
