Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

it's traditional to offer hospitality to everyone in the village (for village weddings) as well as neighbours work colleagues, friends (however distant) and of course, all family members including very distant members of extended family.

An(Hindu) colleague of mine went to India to have her wedding. She and her husband were both born in the UK, but their parents were immigrants. The weddings were in India so that large numbers of family members and friends could attend, because most of the family still lived there, but they had relatives who lived and worked all over Europe who were invited to the celebrations, Not everybody is invited for the full umpteen days of the ceremony, but it is regarded as good fortune to invite a large number, and also their families would feel embarrassed not to invite everyone. They are very expensive celebrations.
I’ve been to a Hindu wedding. My co-worker’s daughter married an Indian doctor and the brides family was told they were responsible for flying family from India here to the wedding. She told them it wasn’t going to happen. Lol!

People are still being stupid in Australia. I was at the shop today and was waiting on the X to be served. The shops have dots and Xs on the floor that are spaced out 2 meters apart so people keep social distancing. Anyway, this woman walks up and stands next to me. I move away so I am about 5 feet from her and she walks over and stands next to me again. I look at her and say back off. She doesn't, so I move further away. She moves over again and stands next to me, then calls her kids over who also stand next to me. I look at her again and say move away. She ignores me so I move further away and she moves over again. Then her husband walks over and stands on my other side. I look at him and say get the Fuplie away from me. He apologises and moves but the fuplie woman just stands there right next to me. By that time I finally managed to get served and got out of there but seriously, wtf. Complete strangers walking up to me and standing next to me during a pandemic.

And we are back on limits at the shops because the supermarket warehouses over east have been shutdown due to the workers having covid19. The supermarket warehouses are full of stock but they don't have any staff to pack and send out orders.

Before covid19 I used to buy a 4 pack of double length paper towels. I could get them from anywhere. For the first 3 months of covid19, I was unable to buy any paper towels. Then things got back to semi normal and I could buy a 4 pack of single length paper towels. Now I can only buy a 2 pack of single length paper towels and of course there is no toilet paper again. Everyone is stocking piling toilet paper again even though they stock piled a few months ago and they got enough back then to last them 5 years. WTF are people doing with the toilet paper?

You have me rolling on the floor, @Colin_T. I had to break down and go in Walmart for groceries today. I had my list and raced around to hurry and get out. I stood on my X waiting and was a good girl. I get to the cashier, a young male. He pulls his mask down below his mouth and leaves it there. I was so mad. I know they are hot but wait until there’s a break in customers to do that. I hear everyone saying “hi” to this lady walking in and I realize it’s his manager. He quickly pulls his mask up and I smiled. Left steaming but kept my mouth shut. Come on, gang!

Latest update from Australia.

Apparently there have been 10,000+ people in the eastern states (Victoria and NSW) who are refusing to get tested because they believe covid19 is a conspiracy and the government is implanting microchips into their brains when they do the covid19 swab. The swab involves putting a long cotton bud up the nose and taking a sample of the mucous. There are some Fuplie idiots in this country.

Queensland borders have been shut for a while now and if you want to go there, you must be quarantined and you pay for that (2 weeks in a special hotel). To overcome this, people are smuggling other people into the state. Basically people are hiding in the boot of cars and staying there for hours while the vehicle is checked and allowed through the check point. Queensland is in the tropical part of Australia and it gets pretty hot there, so people hiding in the boot of a car for several hours while it is sitting in the sun are at risk of dying. Again there are some Fuplie idiots in this country.

I'm sure it will be a great comfort to them all that they'll die with very clean bottoms.

Some people are beyond stupid, they really are. It irritates the life out of me when people push against me - and I am always very apologetic if I accidentally get to close to someone else. Mostly here, people are keeping their distance and being courteous.

I bought half a dozen distinctly coloured flannels to use for bottoms only (two for each of us) if the worst came to the worst and there was no loo roll. As it happens, we haven't had to resort to them (yet).

The LOL was for this statement about people stock piling toilet paper.

News Flash.
A block of 1000 public housing units in Victoria has just been quarantined because about 100 people from the units have tested positive for covid19.

----------
Pubs and clubs were opened last night in some states and thousands went there and social distancing laws went out the windows. Nobody complied with them.

All I have to say about this is "What the hell did you think was going to happen?" Stupid government expecting drunk and stoned people to comply with social distancing laws in a pub or night club. Like really, how dumb are they?

---------
55,000 new cases in the US yesterday, oh that's bad :(
The US government is letting it spread and is going for herd immunity.

I wonder why they are stockpiling toilet paper again? was it like everyone or just a couple of people with a trolley full?

I dont think an airline can run without filling the seats, my brother says some airlines are flying empty planes because its cheaper than giving the refund as they can say the flight still took off... Waste of pollution.

Come to think of it pilots cant sit two metres apart.

Everyone is stockpiling toilet paper and paper towels again. It really baffels me considering they did the same thing 3 months ago. People walking out with 50 packs and coming back for more after they put it in the car.

I'm not sure how much the average person uses but if you are chewing through that much dunny paper each week, there is probably something wrong with you, or you need to learn how to fold instead of scrunching up handfuls.

There were fuplies on Facebook at the start of this, who had pictures of their spare rooms and garages and they looked like they were opening a small shop, the stuff they had piled up there - and worse there were comments like "We could only get X packs of 18 toilets rolls/ tins of ham/ packs of pasta/ whatever, so we're going out again this afternoon."

I just thought - no wonder there's nothing in the shops when you greedy buggers are grabbing everything! There are people who can't afford to buy more than one pack of pasta, and who are medically vulnerable so CAN'T spend all their time in queues, and they can't even get enough food for one meal because you greedy lot have stripped the shelves like a swarm of locusts!

I hope that rats and ants broke into their garages and spoiled everything they had in there.

Scum!
