Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

Is that why there aren't any dairy products at Walmart?
I am not sure in your area if there is the same problem with waste, I do know that there are not as many active truckers during this and they are trying to get more nationwide

It actually makes sense. I didn't think of that!

I froze one gallon of milk. I don't go into stores at all. I get food delivered but the delivery slots are few and far between now as so many people are now trying to get food delivered.

I just should buy a couple of cows and some chickens and vegetable seeds. Then I might not have to shop except for hay and chicken feed.

As the saying goes, you can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but if you teach a man to fish he will eat for a lifetime.

We just build a 12 foot greenhouse and planted a garden.

Because suicide is a sin. You’re body is God’s creation and you have no right to destroy it.
So die slowly and painfully when cancer and viruses destroy it instead. Then blame god for creating those :(

We have limits on what we can buy here too. I went into town on Thursday night and most of the stores had shut early even tho it was meant to be late night trading (stores are normally open until 9pm).

I told the store manager I live 40km from town and am trying to do my monthly shopping and asked if I could buy a box of 12 x 1 litre cartons of soy milk. I was told no, I can only buy 2 at a time.

It's ridiculous. I understand they are trying to make it so everyone can get some supplies, but when people spend an hour driving in one direction to go shopping and can only buy 2 days worth of food, it's pretty screwed up.

I'm not trying to stockpile, I am simply trying to do my normal monthly shopping and I can't. I can't buy anything from my local store and have only managed to buy meat 3 times in the last month. I managed to get a packet of frozen veges on one of those occasions. I haven't been able to buy any paper products for over 2 months. And we make all our paper products in Australia.

Bloody people are still stock piling even tho there are limits. They take their entire family to the shop first thing in the morning, which is against the law as only 1 person per household is meant to go to the shop. Each family member grabs 2 items and pays for them separately and they walk out.

On top of this the stores are telling people to go in first thing in the morning and if you go there then, there are hundreds of people standing by the entrance. This is also against the law with people meant to be at least 2 meters apart and no more than 1 person per 4 square meters.

Basically, if you go first thing in the morning, you might get some food & groceries, but you risk catching the virus due to the number of people there. If you go shopping half an hour after they have opened there is no stock left.

The shops are advertising on television saying they are still open for trading but they are actually closing early now.

I'm starting to look at people as a food source but I don't know what I will catch from them.

There are actually some very compelling reasons why God must allow suffering, I can PM them to you if you wish to discuss it with me

no.

as far as I'm concerned, any god who lets people suffer and sends them to hell for committing suicide to end the pain, is not a good god.

there's no reason what so ever, to let anything suffer.

I dont think euthanasia and suicide is the same thing though, to me people who has a depression, wanted to suicide shouldn't do it (its like runaway from problems) while people who suffering from paralysis is ok to euthanize. (like my great grandmother :( who suffer almost 10 years of paralysis) for my fish however im scare of euthanize my fish and never done it.

Speaking of Covid, I have no idea why people here stock pilling rain coat....

Rain coats can be worn over normal clothes and help prevent the virus getting on your normal clothes. They can be disinfected easily by spraying alcohol on them and wiping them down. You can also use them as protective clothing if you seal them up with tape. Then you make a helmet with another coat and some clear plastic, and you have a bio hazard suit.

This whole corona virus is very serious and people especially the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions are dying.

As of yesterday, the figure for confirmed corvid19 cases world wide passed the 1million mark with 53,000 people dead. This works out as a fatality rate of 5.3%.

However, most of the people who are being tested are in hospitals or are at high risk or are health workers. This means the general public as a whole is not being tested. Therefore, it seems quite likely that the actual figure of the infection rate is far higher than is currently known. Perhaps as many as 10 to 20 times higher. If this is the case, then the fatality rate is actually a lot lower than 5.3% and is more likely to be around 0.53% or 0.265%.

I am in no way trying to downplay the seriousness of this virus but it strikes me that the total lock down's in various countries doesn't appear to have worked very well, just look at Italy and the USA for example. Until a vaccine is developed for the virus, no one has any immunity to it except for those who have had it and who have recovered from it.

We all know that viruses do mutate fairly regularly and that's why there is a new flu virus vaccine every year which is routinely given to those who are deemed at high risk.

So, any vaccine that is developed will have to be adapted fairly regularly to combat what is likely to be a yearly occurrence of covid19.

What are you guys doing during the quarantined, I'm bored...

Italy didn't start locking down the country until well after the virus had spread. They also greet each other with a kiss on the cheek and that helped spread the virus.

In America and other countries the virus is being spread by people before they show any symptoms. This means people are out and about spreading it without even knowing they have it. On the news last night the chief medical doctor and the government advised all people to wear some sort of mask to stop asymptomatic patients from spreading the virus. The mask doesn't stop you catching the virus, but it does reduce the amount of virus that is put into the environment by people who have it. So people that have the virus but don't show any symptoms can wear a mask and that will significantly reduce the amount of virus they release into the environment, and it significantly reduces the chance of them spreading it to other people.

In Australia we have pretty much shut down the country and in places where people are staying home and only going out if they absolutely need to, the virus is not spreading rapidly. The areas where the virus is spreading are places where people don't think there is anything to worry about and won't stay home.

-------------
The Australian scientist think the kill rate for this virus is about 3%.
If it has a 1% kill rate, that means about 75million people could die from this.
If it has a 3% kill rate, then about 225million people could die from it.

There is also a possibility the kill rate will be higher in third world countries and places with a low level of health care (Africa, India, Indonesia, Afghanistan, New Guinea, etc). If the virus goes through these places it could wipe out huge numbers of people.

If you are bored, play an online computer game. World of Warcraft has free to play, where you don't have to pay anything but your players can only go to level 20. There are other limitations as well, like not being able to chat on trade chat or use the mail system, but apart form that you can do quests, dungeons and pvp.

There are plenty of other online games too, just google free online games like wow.

Just download the game during off peak times and then you're good to go.
